Just in town for the weekend. Service was excellent at the bar. Very large bar area. The problem with the bar is when eating there, there's a large lip that just doesn't allow eating at the bar to be super comfortable. Typical irish bar decorations. I bet this place would be a blast on St. Paddy's Day! Drinks were solid and we didn't have to wait long. Smashburgers were mid. Just kinda tasteless and no real smashburger crust. Their pickles were phenomenal though! They have a few claw machines and several other video games to play which I always enjoy. Would go back to see how their late night weekends are! read more

12 people at bar A group of 15 walks in Still never waited for a drink and always had a smile.Brianna is awesome along with the new server.nothing but great service.bring your parties here read more

Would give zero stars if I could. The bartenders should spend less time pouring themselves shots and more time pouring drinks for the patrons. read more

There were hardly any people in the place, yet it took us over an hour since we sat down to get our meal. It was a weeknight and around 5:45. The food ordered was average. How long does it take to make a grilled cheese sandwich and ladle out a cup of soup? And the ambience? My bad, but I thought it was an Irish pub, but it really gave off vibes of a refurbished VFW. No ambience. read more

Have been back to this place about 3 more times. Every time the food seems like it's cooked by someone else. Unfortunately the food was disappointed more each time. The server/bartender was ok except for the last 15 minutes where we didn't know where she went and we wanted to pay to leave. The music was at a decent level so you could still talk to the people you're with. I do notice the place can get loud with more people there and it's as if everyone is yelling. May try this place again for drinks or fries, but it's a Toss up on the other foods read more

Great attentive service, large drink choices draft and bottle, food is always better each time. Great place to stop when in town. Try the wings and Philly cheese steak. I was told almost everything is made in house with fresh ingredients. read more

Fantastic !!! We are staying at Kalahari and decided to get take out for dinner from here for our family and it did not disappoint. The Ruben was delicious and fresh, the tots were crispy, the kids approved of the chicken fingers and the beer was cold while we waited for the order. Would definitely order from here again. It was reasonably priced and delicious. read more

All the food we ordered was burnt, the cheese in my grilled cheese was burnt. I asked for no onions in my chili, but onions were the only vegetable in it. read more

Great big place, good for groups or a date. Can't go wrong here with some delicious hot wings and some cold beer. Wish the place had a lil better service. read more

Excellent service. Clean and spacious. Food was amazing for a tavern. Wings were perfect. Bavarian pretzel was huge and delicious. I wish we would have found this place earlier in our stay at the Poconos. read more

We had stopped at two previous locations for lunch in Mt. Poconos before we settled on Burkes Tavern. Don't be surprised when you walk in...it IS a tavern. But as far as taverns go, very clean and the service was top notch. They couldn't have been more attentive and courteous. Love good customer service, and this was that! I had the Bavarian pretzel and the mini pierogi. The pretzel was the BEST pretzel I have ever had - and I'm kinda a pretzel aficionado. Great place for a casual meal and a cold one! read more

Five stars for the burger. Slow service, ample seating, (bar seating and tables and outdoor patio), plenty of TVs, arcade on the side and casual vibe. read more

Food was good and the service was really good. There was a larger group who was having a great time but it made it hard for us to hear each other so we were able to move. read more

Food was excellent, I got the burger and it came on a beautiful brioche bun. The servers were very friendly and personable. Coming from New Jersey, the people at the bar were very friendly and mad you feel welcome. read more

Four stars for being a cool tavern. Although they serve mostly typical bar food fare, it's better than most you'll find in the Poconos. Years ago, this place was destroyed in a fire and the rebuilt it to its present glory and is a fantastic sports bar now. The servers are terrific and very interactive. The food is actually very good compared to most bars or taverns in the area. Yesterday, I ordered the Fish Po Boy and was impressed. They make a good sandwich. I'm not sure what type of fish it was but it had nice flavor. read more

Wish they had 0 stars, made this account just to talk about how horrible this place is. Not because of how the place looks or the food but the rude, disrespectful bartender. We tried to take in consideration maybe there is something wrong with her brain but we don't think that's the case, she has a case of hating life. Got disrespected from the second we walked in. We are all over 21 and respectful and from a different state and got question about it and we showed are ids and she had a very hard time reading so my brother gave her advice where the date was at and she responded she could read with rude remarks. We tried to order a cocktail she swear she couldn't make it, two girl walked in and she jumped to making cocktails. Than at the end my father had to leave so he tried to pay for his bill she just charged him for everything without letting him know than gave rude remarks after her tried to tell her we are all separate and she couldn't help him. Just save your time and go somewhere else and for the blonde rude special ed bartender get help and find peace in life or quit your job. read more

They understood gluten-free. I did not get sick from the waitress recommendations. I want to go back.

Came here with six 17 year olds after snow tubing. Everyone was cold and starving. This place has a nice tavern feel, the staff is very friendly and the food was just the gastronomical meal we needed! Large bar, many tv's with sports and a cute faux fireplace in the middle of the restaurant. Will come here again if ever in the area. read more

Definitely didn't experience anything from the previous reviews! Service was fast and friendly. My boneless wings with the sweet and spicy sauce, also the triple b sauce, were fantastic. Others had the Reuben (excellent) with tots (yum!) and grilled ham and cheese (fantastic)! Beer is cold and reasonably priced. They also have a kids menu. The atmosphere is that of a fun bar, I really liked the kind of Irish tavern feel, bar was clean and beautiful, and nice little arcade (bring quarters) and juke box! read more

I've been told by locals that they just aren't nice to anyone but their regulars because they want to keep it their regulars & don't want repeat business from outsiders. Not sure if that's true or not but, they were really not helpful and rude none the less. I gladly paid for the wings no problem but, good customer service would be to at least help me to pay my bill in a reasonable time so that I could leave. It shouldn't take a 1/2 hour after a broken tooth to leave. There were only 3 people at the bar and maybe 1 table in the restaurant. Horrible customer service and wait time was ridiculous. read more

Waitress was nice but the food was disgusting, my burger tasted reheated and my mom chili tasted like it was from a can.

not much of a bar when they call last call at 10pm on weekends. don't show up after 9 you won't be served. have tried the food there on several occasions and not impressed. school lunches from the eighties were better tasting. dont order a chilled shot in a larger "rocks" glass. you will be raped for glass upcharge, ice up charge, and or whatever else the clueless bitchy barmaids feel like tacking on. (Heineken, and shot of jack tried to charge me $16). owner doesn't really care. he has no desire to build a Buisness or reputation with locals, he is just here to beat tourist over the head. this Buisness is embarrassing and non contributors to our community so steer clear read more

Stopped in on a Friday night with a group of 8. Staff was quick to put a table together for us and our server Maddie greeted us and told us it was her first night. First set of drinks took a bit but food came out quickly and correctly. Maddie's helper ( did not get her name ) was great grabbing some napkins and condiments that were needed. Typically bar food , nothing special but drinks were reasonably priced and staff made it a great night for our group. Will be back. read more

The staff was extremely rude and discourteous and the food was clearly packaged food just reheated. I do not recommend this to anyone visiting the Poconos. read more

Not impressed at all. Before it burnt, it was much better! Service is poor. The food would be better if they had their business in order!

READ THIS REVIEW! This is the most important review out there. First off, the amount of time we waited to get our food I thought this food would be ridiculously amazing. Turns out, it was the most basic burger ever. Secondly, our order wasn't even close to correct, and we waited 45 minutes for it (yes, I timed it). Thirdly, the waiter was old and mean and didn't care if we got our food. That's why it's ONE STAR!!! read more

the food was good but the clientele was horrible. the acoustics are bad. there were 7 people in the whole restaurant and 4 couldn't speak without Fing this, fing that. as I said, the acoustics were not good and the whole restaurant could hear the conversations. what a dive bar. read more

The food is very good and local people you meet there a interesting The Irish tater skins are amazing

This place is awesome! Classic Irish pub with great food, friendly staff, ample room at the bar and a game area for the kids.

As a regular customer The Guinness stew is excellent and you can get some good entrees but sometimes it's a hit or miss and if you complain you have to watch who is on because they are just down right rude. They are convenient and do make some great items but as a regular customer my husband and I were treated so badly when they screwed our order up that I will think twice next time and that was by one of the waitresses and the cook finally the manager on duty Jenn had to handle it and the other 2 still wouldn't shut up with there rudeness. Our quesadilla was burnt and full of jalapeños when we asked for it without .i had to take pictures because they didn't believe me- would you eat this? read more

Pocono pub... used to be something special some time ago, now it's like a TGIFridays. Which is fine, it's an enormous tavern. Rebuilt a few years ago, it's still like new inside. It's loud, even when it's empty. If it were on a ski lodge, it would be perfect. We still enjoy a few drinks at the bar... Food is greasy and mostly fried bar grub. The French fry Friday is a great deal and they are good! The Staff looks like they rolled out of bed or fresh from the gym. No energy in the place. We have been coming here since 2005, before the fire. read more

It's a bar in Mount Pocono. Back when I called the Poconos my home I spent some time at Burkes Tavern usually wishing that I was somewhere else other than Burkes Tavern. Don't get me wrong, there are Much worse places that you could find yourself than here. They do have really Great Chicken wings, Guinness Stew, and Yuengling on tap so Cheers!! read more

The food was amazing and the staff even better. I truly appreciate great staff as I'm in the restaurant industry. The waiters were on top of everything! We will be back very soon! read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I went in for a quick bite. The place had people in it, but was not crowded. I sat at the bar to expedite the process. It seemed like half the stuff on the menu was not available. I settled on a turkey club. After 50 minutes, the bar tender finally decided to check on me and asked if I was ok. I said that I ordered my food almost an hour ago and I still didn't get it. She shrugged her shoulders, said there's only one person working in the back, and then said "I don't know what to tell you." I then stated I didn't want the food any more and to close out my bill. Very disappointing. Will not waste my time there again. read more

If you asked me a year ago I would have given 5 stars. But... the food recently has been burnt EVERY TIME I'VE ORDERED and they have raised the prices. How do you burn food every time (I'm talking 6-8 occasions) someone comes in?? Get A NEW COOK!!!!!! REALLY! The bartenders are nice, however and if my food wasn't burnt every time I came here the PRICE IS DECENT FOR THE DAILY SPECIAL ONLY!!!! But this place is going down hill STILL and their poker Wed/Thurs is their only saving grace. There's a reason I come here less now. Go to drink and send the food back if it's burnt. Because I will now if I get one more burnt apptz. Here. The food is decent when it's cooked right. read more

Wings were not good at all. The sauce was more like oil. Mozzarella sticks and sauce had little to no flavor.

Good wings and burgers. Usually the service is great but went tonight and despite being one of 4 tables with two waitresses it took forever to get service. We considered leaving but decided we didnt want to drive any further. That was a mistake. Hard to get the bartender to pay attention to anything but her phone. Then to top the night off with a gold star she starting fast forwarding through our songs on the juke box bc she didnt want to listen to them. BIG THUMBS DOWN TONIGHT BURKES read more
