You get the benefits of yoga, wonderful stretching, good aerobics without any jarring movements - no high impact, so it is very loving to your joints. Best of all, you get the benefits of dancing. Just arrive early and sign up & pay with the person at the front desk. I've been to the Intermediate Modern and the Beginning Hip-Hop classes. In both, people are very accepting -- I have not gotten any judgmental vibes from other dancers, which is awesome! (Because growing up in the dance world, competition is all around you.) I have been driving here form the northern suburbs, and there is free street parking in the evenings. Just read the street signs & you should be fine!

I finally got off my butt, took the plunge and went to the sessions...wowie, wow! I felt my core get a wee bit stronger after the first lesson. Instructor "Davi" makes it look so easy when she demonstrates but when you get on the equipment you realize "Holy crap this is a REAL workout!' More importantly Davi is soooo patient and encouraging when she teaches you to do the moves. As I wrote in my original review the studio has a great feeling energy to it, always so soothing. Now if I can just keep this enthusiasm up about working out and getting healthy...I'll be on the right track! Maybe I'll need to keep rereading this review so I don't get amnesia about what's good for me!

Well there is not too much I can write that is much different than some of the other positive…read morereviews so far.. What I can tell you though, is that this location is a no frills, nothing fancy type of gym, with all the equipment and basic amenities a gym should have. It is not your high-end, spa/juice bar/tan salon/supplement store/.. well you get the point! It is however, a great place to get your workout in. It has a great selection of free weights, cardio machines, running and walking tracks, a pool, sauna, racquet ball courts, basketball courts, heavy bag and speed bag, and offers group fitness classes and affordable personal training... Being a university employee has it's perks as the fees are very reasonable and allows us access to the bigger, nicer, east side location on Halsted with our membership. But the rates for non-employee/non-student are still cheaper than big chain gyms nearby and offer more than the small local gyms. So if you are in the Medical District and need a solid gym, this gym is a great option.
