The owner and staff are very accommodating and speak English and Dutch as well as German. Dining in the outside seating area under the trees and along the river was memory making. Even though the basics are pork schnitzel, the preparations are creative. Schnitzel Toscana was a breaded cutlet covered with parmigiana and gouda cheese with cherry tomatoes, served with spaghetti and pesto and olive oil. Another dish was a pork chop, breaded, and served with sautéed onions, and leeks in cream sauce, boiled potatoes. Absolutely so delicious, better than my description! Very good wine selection. One day we had lunch outside. Then came back for a drink in the afternoon outside, then dinner! Lovely place. Lovely food. Great service. Reasonable prices!!

Food is fresh (farm to table) and delicious and the decor resembles an old wine cave. Outside seating as well I believe on the river but it was a bit too chilly for that. Food was excellent and price was very reasonable. We enjoyed very tasty homemade noodles with pork strips in fresh mushroom cream sauce (photo) and a side salad. It was very enjoyable sitting at an outside table in the evening. The ambiance was perfect as we watched boats and freighters go up and down on the Rhine while dining. Service was very good though there was only couple of servers. They were very efficient, helpful and pleasant. We stopped in Bacharach a little south of this town also along the Rhine a while back. Sankt Goar is a smaller town/village and gave a very fine quiet atmosphere for our evening. I'll come back if I had another opportunity.

This was one of the only hotel booking.com had available on the "Romatic Rhein" so I took it for $60/night-single, breakfast included with all the European delights. The offer free parking but is out of the main town directly across from a camping site which takes the view away from the hotel a bit. Can walk into the main town which is really charming with a great Italian restaurant, Alla Fontana. High recommend. Here the twist. The train goes by every 20 min. All night and is super loud as the hotel abuts the tracks. I slept mostly they it so make sure you are super tired before booking here. There are a lot of other options up and down this part of the Rhein, suggest trying those first. Free bike provided for the day and also free wifi although a bit unreliable. I do recommend this place just beware of my review. Prost!
