It was such a fun event that I'm definitely in for next year! The venue feels a bit awkward, like having a party on a large traffic island, but it wasn't too hard to find a parking, especially if you don't mind walking a couple of blocks. And the "park" do have a fountain and some benches to sit and rest. With over 20 burgers to choose from, I'm glad I went with Claudia J so we could share, and managed to sample most of them - except for a few that didn't look appetizing enough (like the one where the square of cheese looked totally unmelted). My favorite includes Shula's, Swine, ROK:BGR, Pincho Factory, and Bread and Butter. Beyond the standard, some burgers are made with short ribs, there was a shrimp burger and Tum Tum's - possibly inspired by ramen burger - used fried rice noodles as buns. Pardo offered Peruvian chicken and cilantro rice, a welcome break after all the "eat more beef!" The website said that there are veggie & fish burgers for those non-beer-eaters, but I don't seem to see any. Maybe you have to ask? For a sweet ending, Seasons 52 had shot glasses of dessert (though in our case it was more a sweet beginning, as the desserts ran out way before the beef.) As most burgers are cooked and assembled on site, there are usually a few minutes' wait. I've seen much longer lines at other food & wine festivals. Not to mention the portions are so generous that our stomachs were about to burst as we left. All in all, well worth $30 (6 sliders, 2 beers - with deal) for a fun night out, sampling some of the best burgers in Miami.

Braised short rib burger from Christy's...great taste and the chef had a good sense of humor

All the tasty and well seasoned burgers from Burgerliscious left me feeling like the bovines I see in front of my window. In fact, I think I could have walked from the Gables to Miami Lakes :) I heard about this festival from the Yelp event page, and managed to find an online deal for the admission. It was one of the better $30 spent for the variety of food. Although I got there about an hour into the event, registration was smooth and the attendants were friendly and recommended which spots to try first. I mentioned I was allergic to seafood (since a couple of seafood spots were present). The chef at the adjacent table, from Christy's then made a joke that they had squid burger. Their (actual) short rib burger with red onion and ají amarillo aioli was as tasty as their chef's sense of humor! Other highlights for me were the sweetish burger from Pincho Factory with their Samuel Adams Beer-caramelized onions, and the double patty and pork belly Swine Burger (another personal favorite). The jerk pineapple burger from the Gables Westin Colonnade hotel was a nice surprise, as was the pineapple and mango burger from the Baptist Hospital cafeteria. The chef from the Colonnade even prepared their burger for me though they were about to close for the night. The only hang ups is that one of the burger chains (while tasty) just brought one of their regular cheeseburgers instead of their famous Breakfast All Day burger (that's aight, since I'm a regular patron for that burger). Also, they ran out if the dessert shots from Seasons 52. Why aren't all food festivals organized as well as this one?

This has been the easiest rating. What is there not to like about Burgerlicious. Tons of awesome restaurants and their burgers to try from. And delicious beer to wash it all down. It's a win-win. There is so many options to try from, it can seem overwhelming at first, but don't get discouraged. Take your time and work you way from one to the other. Try to taste places you haven't tried before, and pace yourself. Even though you might wanna try as much as possible and drink anything that's free, limit yourself and save it for the good stuff. A good way to tell is see how many people are waiting in line for a burger. If you can't get to the table, it's a good sign. That was the case of Swine. Didn't matter what time you passed by, it was a constant roadblock right in front. Happy Eating!

The burgerlicious annual event was held last night in the Gables in the Ponce Circle Park. The best burgers for me was Jr's burger and Off the grill from pinecrest bakery their frita burger. Bulla gastrobar burger was well seasoned and tasted good but it was a bit raw for me. Knaus berry came our with a cinnamon bun burger which was different. Pinchot factory was there too with their burger that has queso frito. Check out my picture and see everyone that was there. The general admission had 6 sliders and 2 drinks, but my friend and I shared alot of the stuff. But, here are some tips of what should've been different the event seemed a bit disorganized. I didn't know where thw entrance was and people were skipping in front of each other. I think there should be a different layout of the burger station and the drinks. The VIP all they had was unlimited drinks and burgers but the only additional drinks was Jack Daniel's(their lemonade was delish) and wine. If their is going to be a VIP entrance it should be a nice area with sofas and tables to be able to eat and have in the tent the drinks they can have that the general admission doesnt include. Separate the dessert area from the burgers and drinks. Please have some cocktail tables for people to eat and put their drinks. Also, tey to do a photobooth. The burger pics were nice with the props. And for each table have 2 lines with ropes so no one starts cutting each other. The band was ok, maybe a DJ with different music is better. Overall, we had a nice time and socialized with a bunch of people. And u should maybe have some vendors to sell their shirts like Martha of Miami was there and I wore her Cuban bred shirt and everyone wanted one.

If I could give it more stars, I would. It's the best annual burger event in Coral Gables. They usually do it at the beginning of November so the weather is nice. It's in a park and we're in Miami so there will always be some heat & humidity but at least there's usually a nice breeze at this time of year and it's in the evening (no sun, yay!). There were 20 competitors this year and the burgers and desserts were top notch. It's an all ages event so it's great to come with the family. I find many food events these days are 21+ so it's great to find one the whole family can enjoy. The music was by a great 80's cover band and kept us jamming all night. This is my 6th or 7th year attending (I've lost count) and I plan on coming every year for as long as they continue to have them.

I not usually in the Gables but I'm glad I was there for the Burgerliscious event. All the local burger joints and restaurants give you sliders as well as drinks at some places. I must say all the burgers were amazing but the absolute best was the burger from Don Shula. It was the juiciest burger I've ever had and full of flavor! For those of you with a sweet tooth there were a couple tables with great desserts.

I did a little shopping at Essence Boutique, which I love to come to when I'm in this area of Coral Gables. I also bought some dips and other trinkets from the festival. I look forward to this festival every year and am so glad I was able to make it this weekend.

But on weekends and night time, I heard it's more busy with the amount of people trying to take selfies. In my Instagram account, my local friends asked me where this is exactly located. It is in Giralda Plaza of Coral Gables. There are restaurants and shops on both sides of the umbrellas. This art installation is by Portugal agency Sextafeira. That is, of course, you're going solely to visit this spectacle. -And yes, I mean, spectacle as the secret's out! Everyone and their mother will be there taking photos. -This is free and no one is monitoring anything, so first come, first serve. -Aside from the hanging umbrellas, there is a backdrop saying Umbrella Sky with more umbrellas. There's also some by a restaurant that you can grab. -Expect to spend fifteen or so minutes there. This is cute, but the novelty and crowds will eventually turn you off. If not that, then definitely the heat or the rain. So essentially, you do this once for a photo to say you've been there, done that. That's all there is to it.

I stopped by during lunchtime with hopes that they had a wide selection of eats and was not disappointed. There were a number of food vendors set up in the middle of the festival. I went with a barbacoa quesadilla from the taco truck which ended up being a little blah, but also tried a lamb gyro wrap that my husband got from a different vendor that was a little better. Besides food, there were plenty of other tents lining Alhambra featuring everything from local makers selling jewelry, apparel, and more, to artists of all kinds... I recognized a lot of the same folks from the Coconut Grove Arts Festival which happens the following weekend. I assume many artists take advantage of the fact they're close together and display in both. There were also a lot of kid and dog related activities and businesses onsite. While not huge, it was fun to walk around and also listen to live music. I would definitely swing by again the next time it pops up in the neighborhood.

Also, while the festival was in progress, they were setting up for a food and alcohol event with controlled access for later in the evening. The inconvenience of having to negotiate around barricades and tents being put up was off-putting. It gives you access to everything a chocoholic dreams of, as well as access to the exhibits at the museum itself. Hence, you definitely have options on things to do and that in itself is a marvelous thing. Unfortunately, chocolate is not. Marvelous, you know? I know that sounds blasphemous, but despite the limited amount of vendors (folks, this DOES NOT compare to the Mango Festival at all), you will end up overdosing on chocolate. They have a private room for the vendors. Makes total sense as this is Florida and it's hot, scorching hot, flamethrower hot, and we don't need an avalanche of chocolate all over the place. Room is cool, well organized, and filled with vendors. Mind you, there are vendors outside as well, but none of these vendors sell chocolate. Ended up gorging ourselves with Susilicious and Románicos that we bought, as well as sampling some new vendors: Exquisito with their DNA shirt comes to mind, plus Cao Chocolates that were featured at MDC.
