Yikes, I've never been to a Dairy Queen, or really any restaurant, with such poor customer service…read more We stopped yesterday on the way home from the lake. The four high school girls working were obviously more concerned with their conversation than assisting their customers. I felt like a burden to them and that I wasn't welcome there. As we watched one of the girls lean on a counter and eat fries while we were waiting for our order, another customer approached the counter. The workers were standing talking to each other with their backs to the counter. After several minutes I said excuse me and alerted them they had a customer. They then fought to see who would have to take her order. It was ridiculous. I will not be going back to this Dairy Queen, I'll visit the McDonalds next time.

Dakota Drive In fit the bill! My order was a burger, fries, jalapeño poppers and a hot dog. The hot dog was okay. It would not be the reason for my return. It was fine but didn't stand out. Same with the cream cheese filled poppers. Personally I prefer cheddar filled but cream cheese is definitely more prevalent. The burger, however, excellent. Charred, juicy, medium well and a soft bun. Just outstanding in taste and texture. The shoestring fries were hot, crunchy and delightful. The kid taking my order was polite, prompt and friendly. A definitely plus. There's picnic table seating outside (it really is an old school drive in!) but I had mine to go. The menu is enormous so my next time through I'll have a burger, fries and try something else as well!
