The Dutch people consider fries to be their main course, not an appetizer. Therefore places like this are quite packed during lunch and dinner times. RPEL also has gourmet dipping sauces to accompany your fries with such as mayo, Belgian mayo, BBQ, curry sauce, applesauce (a German thing) and their new citrus and truffle mayos. The citrus had the nice touch of actual lime zest sprinkled on it, and the truffle mayo was definitely delicious. They also have a variety of other friend foods to snack on. Yes. I've gone here probably every other day for my last 4 weeks of being in Maastricht. The owner is the friendliest and sweetest man ever, his young son that helps him is a nice boy too. When you come in and order to eat in, he'll give you fruit prior to your meal. A little plate of appetizers of sorts, it's great and the fruit is always nice to eat before you fill yourself up with the heavy food you just ordered. If you like fries, falafel, chicken, meat, wraps, Greek food, Mediterranean food, fast food, delicious food that makes you question everything you knew; this is the place for you. I've tried the falafel wrap, durum wrap, donerbox, kip kapsalon, and a special chicken wrap that was made because I asked the owner to make his favorite meal. They were all soooooo good. I can't handle it and my mouth is just watering thinking about the donerbox haha. All super affordable, all super delicious. The menu is decent, but definitely different than in the US. I chose the Seven Layer Burrito and ordered it without sour cream. So maybe I made it a Six Layer Burrito. I got it with Mountain Dew (of course). The cashier asked me if I wanted my food with nachos or fries and I had to choose fries because WHAT COULD THAT BE? It turns out, the seasoned fries from Taco Bell NL are delicious. This visit fulfilled my craving for Taco Bell. It wasn't a regular Taco Bell trip but it was still really nice and quite satisfying.

Taco Bell is exactly what I remember -- in fact, it's tastes like the best memories I have of the Bell. Like every other fast food restaurant, a side of sauce is extra, but there are three levels of heat for all meats, so I presume the mild, hot and fire sauces are already in the food. Still - fast service and good food, for less cost than the crummy Taco Mundo knockoff. We had the Nachos Supreme, a Stuft chicken burrito and a crunchwrap. While the chicken was perfectly fine, we both loved the beef nachos and crunchwrap. No steak on the menu, but carnitas - which I think would suit the stuft burrito better. The place has 2 floors of seating, a couple little couch areas and a table up front with plugs, like at schiphol, so you can plug in your laptop and get work done. Hopefully they can expand to outdoor seating. I'll be very happy indeed when they expand to the Randstad.
