A misdemeanor charge and/or…read morepossible jail time could have resulted in his loss of his apprenticeship, job and other serious consequences. We got a bunch of mailings from attorneys. Talked to a couple of them but I knew, once we were in contact with Andrew and his staff, that he was the right attorney to work with. We were very fortunate to get his charges reduced. We felt like we were in great hands. He was honest, straightforward and on court day we could tell he was respected and liked by the court staff and sheriffs. My husband wishes we could give him 10 stars!

While my tickets were basic speeding tickets, Andrew was more than effective in getting the tickets dismissed and my driving record cleared. I imagine his services are that much more valuable for more serious offenses. He fully represented me and I never had to travel to court. Communication was regular and friendly from either Andrew or his administrative team. He has a good rapport with area judges, which helps to determine how he will argue your case. He even gives a repeat customer discount (though I wish I didn't have knowledge of that...). Don't forget to do your homework and follow through with any driving school programs he recommends. If you don't, Dawn will remind you! Disclaimer: Just drive safely...hopefully you'll never need Andrew at all!

Family…read moremember paid for a consultation, but instead got 15 minutes of humiliation for her hard earned money. This family member had finally worked up the courage to leave a 10+ year abusive relationship, and is continually working toward getting her life and mental health back on track. Ms. Simmons blamed her for sticking around as long as she did and "allowing" the things that happened to take place. I pray Ms. Simmons never falls off of her high horse and finds herself in a similar situation. Women don't choose abuse, be it verbal or physical. Sometimes when you finally realize what's actually happening, there may be children, mortgages, a lack of funds, or numerous other things to consider. It's not as easy as Ms. Simmons seems to believe. If you're stuck in an abusive relationship or marriage, I pray you find the strength that you need to leave or seek help. If you're thinking about allowing Simmons & Hodge the opportunity to fight for you, please reconsider.. from our family's experience, they wont. It's not worth making an already tough time even tougher.

Mr. Mayoras is a rock solid attorney. If you want representation in a Northern Virginia criminal…read morecase, trust me, you will have no regrets if you select Mr. Mayoras as your Defense Attorney. In August 2015, my daughter was a victim of assault and pressed charges against her aggressor. The aggressor counter-charged my daughter. Mr. Mayoras was selected as her public defender. Prior to the hearing, Mr. Mayoras engaged with the prosecutor and maintained contact with us. On the day of the trial I observed other cases prior to ours being heard, I saw weak defense attorneys lose repeatedly to the tough prosecutor. As my daughter was called forward I started to worry. Mr. Mayoras was a rock solid attorney as he cross-examined the defendant who counter-charged my daughter capitalizing on every weakness and inconsistency. He not only had my daughter's counter-charge dismissed but his piercing argument ensured that the aggressor received a conviction. I was absolutely impressed. A year later my son broke up with his girlfriend. In her anger, in March 2016, she chose to file charges of strangulation, assault, and battery saying that my son tried to kill her. A felony warrant was issued for the strangulation and a misdemeanor warrant was issued for the assault and battery. At that moment our lives changed forever. If convicted, my son, a United States Marine, was facing a five-year prison sentence and discharge from the military with no hope of ever finding decent employment in the United States. Life as he knew it would be over for the rest of his life. I called Mr. Mayoras to take the case even though I knew he only practiced in Northern Virginia. Although he warned me that he had no insight into the Norfolk courts, based on my previous observations, I believed that if anyone could save my son, it would be Mr. Mayoras. Upon taking the case, he did extensive research and kept us informed of his strategy to win. With months of preparation we went to trial in October 2016. Like my previous encounter in court a year earlier I observed multiple weak defense attorneys lose to the tough prosecutors leading to multiple convictions. At the end of the day, the last case to be heard, my son was called to trial. I started to get concerned as the prosecutor started to build a case against my son. However, as every prosecuting witness was brought forward, Mr. Mayoras processed every word that was stated exploiting every weakness and inconsistency in their testimony through cross-examination. He even challenged the relevance of certain witnesses who as a result did not even get to testify. Then it was the time for the defense to take action. Short, straight, and to the point he built a bullet-proof defense with only two witnesses and the defendant. Sharp, smart, and one step ahead of the game, he even recalled one of the prosecuting witnesses and manipulated the individual to testify in favor of my son. The strength in the prosecutor's case had dwindled by the end of the trial through the skill and mental agility of Mr. Mayoras. The judge dismissed both charges and my son was a free man with a life ahead of him. Think about it, Mr. Mayoras won this case despite having never entered the Norfolk courthouse previous to this. I challenge you not just to take my word for it. You have one chance to win or lose a case. Call him and find out when he is next in court. It will cost you nothing to see him first hand in action as he handles his case. I promise that you will be absolutely impressed. You don't have to choose him, but please make your selection only after seeing him handle a case in court. I am in the military and am due to rotate to Florida next year. My only regret is that Mr. Mayoras is not bar certified in Florida! Good luck to you. Choose your defense attorney wisely.
