I'm a BUPA member so receive extra benefits by coming to this store. An appointment was made earlier and I had a full optometrist consultation fully covered by Medicare. There are a lot of frames to choose from and I was given assistance by Bronwyn. It was a busy day so my account was finalised by another staff member while Bronwyn went to assist other clients. I think they really need an extra staff member to cope with the walk ins, as it appeared that only two on duty. Overall the optometrist as helpful and Bronwyn was great helping me to choose frames as I'm a procrastinator. Parking is easy and convenient in the Burnside Village carpark. read more

There are 3 words to sum up this place: Impersonal, Impolite and Incompetent! I have had consistently bad service at this place and today was the last straw. It's always busy, not enough staff and I stood waiting at counter for over 10mins. During that time no-one bothered to acknowledge me and even give lipservice that I would be assisted soon. When I was finally served it took ages because there were probs putting my card through. When I advised that my previous contact lens order had been stuffed up and the wrong lenses were ordered I was met with a blank look. They are rude, too far up themselves and hopeless. I have been to the city optical shop before I went to Burnside shop. The city one provided a way much better service than Burnside one. As a optical shop located in a such wealthy suburb, I would expect to receive a better service. Unfortunately it was totally a disappointment. The staff there were not helpful while I asked if they could get me some choices of frames which I have told them what I requested. Then they just left me stand alone to search the glasses on their shelves on my own for an hour!!! Their service was like "well, help yourself, i'm busy, don't bother me, I don't know much about the glasses here, you have to find it yourself". The city shop provided me a lot of choices and advice which I did appreciated. Thought that the other bupa shops would be the same but too bad it wasn't. read more
