Ahhh, the red shirts are coming...too late they're already here! There's no such thing as a quick visit as it's set up like a supermarket or Ikea whereby you have to go all round to find what you really came for.... marketing research - tick. And as with any huge store the staff are too busy restocking shelves and carrying out maintenance rather than customer service, in fact...customers can be given a red flag to wave for assistance and over the loud speakers can come the announcement "service to isle 2594". In all honesty and respect, some of the staff are really knowledgeable and great plus you can see it in their eyes when it's time for you to leave....on one occasion I felt I should've parked further away just so they could've walked me over with my purchase instead of directly out the front. This really did happen to me, seriously! Bunnings is like a massive indoor playground short of a roller coaster, it has everything you would ever need to fix a hole in the wall or simply anything - incidentally - I heard this is the only hardware store you can buy the Polyfiller brand! No wonder it has no competitors with an ark like Bunnings and if it were open 24 hours a day, someone will surely be in there. More recently I've had to return a couple of faulty items to the returns desk and I think they have tightened up on what they accept back and in regards to cash back. A classic example is: I purchased an electric staple gun after reading on the label what it can staple. Went home tried to staple a thin piece of picture frame wire to wood and it didn't work but it did work when the staple went directly in plain wood. Now my definition of faulty and not working was not the same as theirs and cutting a long story short, lets just say I had a very hard time getting my money back. read more

Bunnings is the sort of store I go to buy a pack of screws... and walk out of with half a dozen tomato plants, a barbeque, 4 litres of British Paints Coastal Blue and a belt sander. I can't help myself, I'm a hardware store junkie. Luckily, Bunnings easily fulfills this addiction - and more. The Marion warehouse is HUGE, and while some people may get flustered searching for what they need I obtain a perverse sense of pleasure out of aimlessly wandering the aisles. Usually with my 5-year-old daughter perched on the end of the flat-bed trolly munching on one of the sausages from the fund-raising BBQ out the front. I have always found the staff to be incredibly helpful, however of a weekend it can be a little difficult to flag someone down. The only down side to Bunnings is the nursery section. While there is a varied selection of bagged soil, soil conditioners, mulches etc, the plant selection can at times look a little tired and wilted. It is a case of first in best dressed at times. And I know that this is not predominantly a plant nursery, but it would be nice for staff to show a little more care and attention to some of the more 'sickly' looking plants. All in all though, this is a mecca for those who pray to the power-tool gods and deities of paint samples. You can walk here for hours, pop into the cafe, refresh, then start walking all over again. I never get tired of it. read more
Yes it's a big chain store, but I've done some extensive comparison shopping and I'm satisfied that the prices are almost always lower at Bunnings than at Stratco, Masters, or Mitre 10. The selection is pretty good and I find the staff to be extremely knowledgeable about the products and home improvement in general. This location has a phenomenal garden centre, probably the best in the city in terms of selection and value. Two minor complaints: the trading hours are great but on Sundays when it's busy they are always short-staffed. I know all about penalty rates but I feel like this is something they should be investing in. Second, since they're owned by Wesfarmers (like Coles, KMart, and Target), it's a bit of a bummer that I can't get flybuys points at Bunnings too. read more

If I could give 10 STARS I would!!! Bunnings is our absolute favorite store for everything related to the home or garden. We could & have spent hours & lots of money there. In fact we've probably spent enough money to own shares in the company or at least own our own exclusive carpark space or staff member lol. My husband has serious side effects, if he doesn't go there every weekend! Couldn't ever accuse my husband of having an affair, except with Bunnings. Bunnings to us is comparable to a playground for kids - you can't get enough & you never want to leave...why would you...it has a cafe, toilets, playground, entertainment for kids eg, balloon man (yesterday ), umberellas for those rainy days, squillions of wonderful things to look at & fantasize about owning or building... AND best of all, lots of comfortable chairs etc to sit on for when you get tired! There are demonstrations to see, DIY books to help with everything. Even our neighborhood kids love coming with us to visit bunnings....we believe in brainwashing at an early age LOL!! Especially with teaching the kids how to pick & grow veggies & plants and the importance of the appropriate behaviour at shops....you'd be surprised at how badly behaved we've seen some people kids behave. Sorry...digressing here. Bunnings is the place to go to that has absolutely EVERYTHING you could possibly need, or want for your home & garden. Prices are very good & as everyone knows, they price match or cheaper. In fact, recently they had statues going cheap & I was looking obviously very interested & the very jovial staff member marked the price down further...super bargain. SO...going back today to try our luck if they have any more left, which I doubt. See....we are addicted to Bunnings! The staff are always fantastic - always helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly. Obviously, they get very busy at times, especially public holidays etc & yes, sometimes it may be hard to find a free staff member to help you, but when you "grab" one, they are always extremely helpful & courtesy is always there, followed by a genuine apology for having kept you waiting. However, for the most part, they are still easily found. Another endearing quality I have found with most staff, is most of them have a great sense of humour. ..which naturally, we appreciate. I also like the fact that their staff ages are very varied - from very young, to much older & everywhere in between. Therefore, you have staff who are learning, and staff who have a wealth of knowledge and experience. Very hard to get this variable knowledge in other stores. Even the people at the checkout are extremely friendly, helpful & jovial. I apologise for the rambling review, but wanted to give examples of why we love it so much. Sigh....looking forward to going there again today...even in the rain! Do you think we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Bunnings, you betcha! ! Enjoy your shopping there, because we certainly DO!! read more

Horrible service in the tool section by some old man. Laughed at me as I was looking around asking if I was alright. very condescending and rude. Then said "how'd we go sweetheart" as I took my items up to the checkout. Very little help & felt very uncomfortable shopping there as a woman. read more

I'm not the biggest fan of hardware stores in general, but there's something comforting about a big-ass Bunnings when you need one. Never fear, name a house-related tool or product and it'll be here. Some may be scared by the size, but I feel powerful and subsequently drift off into various fantasies where either me, or me and an imaginary big, strapping lad, build shit. I don't actually build stuff ever, so that tells you the magnetism lots of hardware has on a lass. I usually awake from my reverie among either the pretty paint colour swathes, or the potted plants. On the weekends they have some local Rotary or Lion club cooking up a mean sausage sizzle, it's worth the trip for that alone. In a nutshell - let your inner tradie shine! read more
