Highly recommend this absolute rare find. The place is beautiful and well taken care of. Management is friendly and very accommodating. The view is just absolutely stunning! They have a fireplace and grilling area as well as a pool and view of the ocean. This resort is perfect for a couple's get away or even a family vacation. There is a cafe and a bar just a 5 minute walk away on the beach with delicious food. There are gift shops, restaurants, bars, and activities very close by in the area. I had just a lovely time with my boyfriend here on our 5 day stay. We will DEFINITELY be staying here the next time we vacation.

Been here since yesterday... so far upon inspecting for cleanliness, we have found several blood stained fabrics around the house, pillows, couch cushions, blankets, etc. The office was advised and they told us they would replace the blankets and pillows, we are still waiting on this. More is expected For the price we paid. On the up side, the beach is right across the beach. And the Blue Marlin restaurant is one of the best and js really close to the bungalow.

Ants in my room eating a dead roach!!

I was really excited for our annual 4th of July trip to the beach, but this place was a real disappointment....well...perhaps I should say it was downright gross. We were really excited to stay here...heard lots of good things. I guess the owners / management have changed hands several times. Plenty of things wrong with the place and honestly don't care to sound like some nit-picker and go on and on about how dirty this place was....my pictures will speak for themselves. We DID alert the owner of the cottages how dirty the rooms were, the bugs and pure filth of the rooms. They said that these were all "maintenance & housekeeping issues" - our concerns were completely blown off. I'm not sure how 1/4" of dust on the curtains and completely rusted out blinds in the shower can be ignored for so long and never get noticed. The place was charming in a bungalow fashion, but it was just disgustingly filthy. The only redeeming thing about the entire pool house is the pool. As many other guests mentioned, the pool and deck were dirty. The hose was unable to turn on and after request was never fixed. To add to it all, the BBQ grill in the back was uncleaned from the previous tenants and all there trash was left in the can....even their sunscreen and other personal belongings were left on the chairs and table out back. The floor was so dirty in the house that we had to clean up under the trash can and used some clorox cleaner and it was so clean compared to the rest of the floor that it literally stuck out like a sore thumb. I did find the mop in a closet, it was totally dirty and smelled awful. It seems since there was no mop bucket that they probably just wet the mop and swish all the dirt around on the floor. It really was disgusting... As for the insects, there were ants everywhere in the house (I'm from Florida and I know bugs get everywhere, but this was crazy...on the counter, floors in the bedroom...everywhere). I killed a huge roach on our last day that was in the master bedroom and when I returned to clean it minutes later it was engulfed by ants literally eating it alive. It was so crazy. The doors looked like they'd never been cleaned and you could see the dirty handprints of lord only knows how many people, toilet seat chipping apart, dust everywhere. I really can't say enough to explain how unkept this unit was. I would never recommend to anyone to stay here. The owners didn't care a bit about the problems. When we checked out, we mentioned the problems with the place again and they used the same excuse "maintenance & housekeeping. At nearly $400 per night that we paid, you would really think there would be not only some level of proper cleaning & maintaining of the property, but also a little true concern when you bring this up. I highly recommend that you stay away from this particular property. There are plenty of places in the area, many of which are clean. This is not one of them

I made last minute reservations, about a week ahead. My intention was to stay right on the beach. By the time I was certain I could get away only one bungalow was available and it was poolside. It turned out to be fine never noisy which was the concern. I think in part the pool was not inviting due to its size so that helped with privacy and noise level. We were their for the beach and this is an amazing gorgeous spot. The bungalow was super cozy and when we needed to go in we had Netflix and amazon fire stick we needed. Weak WiFi though so if you have to work on your getaway be patient better yet Don't work on vacay!!! The Customer Service was Superb! Every COVID-19 precaution taken very well thought out plan for not in person communication with staff yet you always have what you need. The parking is tight and they are upfront and inform you I'm advance only one car per bungalow.

Broken table

Our so called bungalow had two wall unit air conditioners, one was not working. Upon telling this to the office on day one, we were promised that the broken unit would be replaced the next day. Five days later still with the broken unit. Then we discovered that the other bungalows had central air conditioning and what did the owners do?, they mounted the central air's condenser on the roof above our bedroom. Several times a day and night the entire bungalow would vibrate and groan as if there was a jet engine over your head. Absolute stupidity! Received towels with wear holes in them. Patio table had a chunk broken off of it. What is advertised as old florida charm is actually a run down place where even the door locks are broken. And one more thing, the place sits on a very dangerous blind curve making it extremely harrowing when trying to pull out of the tiny parking area. I've never felt so cheated. By all means stay elsewhere!

Ok so I was a bit surprised when I opened the door & the bed was literally right there. It was definitely more of a cottage than it was a resort like I was hoping for. The access to the beach made up for the swamp cooler freezing my butt off half the night. It was either hot & sweaty or noisy & cold. You had to outweigh the bad & find the good. Thr staff was friendly but it was a bit annoying you couldn't go in to the front desk because of covid. We had the pool to ourself every night & the basket on the bed was perfect for gathering sea shells. It was definitely useful for my daughter. The light outside the room was annoying at night but it was comforting to know if someone was going to break in, they'd be seen. Lol

I can't speak for the beachfont side of the bungalows but for the Pool cottage across the street was almost perfect. The house was super cute and other than the inside of the microwave it was super clean. Yes the pool needs some TLC as tiles are missing and the floor has peeled we weren't there for the pool. We were there for the beach and it was glorious. The pool was a meir bonus. The beds were really comfortable, the couches were soft and cozy to curl up on to watch a movie when the rain came down. I loved after a good long day on the beach we walked in to this cozy private and adorable place to call home for 4 days. We cooked one great meal on our last night and drove away in the morning with the yearning to one day go back to that lovely bungalow. The front desk ladies were wonderful and extremely accommodating. Thank you all so much for this long awaited trip.

This was our honeymoon vacation. Yes, the resort is small. It takes some getting used to the closeness. While staying here you get the feel of old Florida. The staff makes you feel at home during your stay. They give great recommendations on places to eat! The courtyard/firepit and grill area was perfect! We grilled out one night and ate on the beach! And the beds were very comfy!!! We loved it so much we stayed an extra night! We plan to come back for anniversary trips! Cons: small showers and a small pool. If you can get over those this is a perfect getaway!!!!

My favorite little getaway. The sheik quaint well maintained bungalows are the perfect place to get away from the fast pace society we live in these days. So incredibly relaxing, comfortable, well maintained and Spectacularly beautiful. Completely unique and unlike anywhere else I've ever been in the world.

If I missed it please tell me. I, for one, can admit when I'm wrong!

Was super excited to see there was a Groupon available with NOTHING in the fine print about blackout dates or exclusions. Imagine the dismay after purchasing the Groupon and calling the resort to book to find out there were blackout dates and exclusions. The person on the phone refused to honor their own Groupon and wouldn't look at it to see that, in fact, there was nothing here to let the customer know there were black out dates or exclusions. Shame that they advertise discounts then refuse to honor them when it is their fault the ad is wrong. So, we have not stayed here, and after this encounter will not.

In keeping with the times, the owners have retired, and the HH complex has been renovated and reconfigured with the main house now being closed to the public and the Dodt house has been remodeled to accommodate larger groups (it is now a 6 bedroom and direct Gulf Front rental - from https://annamariaisland.com/harrington-house-accommodations). I have fabulous memories of this place! It's steps from the beach, and the room costs included a delicious, filling, homemade breakfast every morning (at that time in the spacious dining room of the main house), parking, kayaks, bicycles, beach chairs, towels, snacks/cookies, and at least one swimming pool. I was really impressed with all the amenities included in the room fee!!!! The proprietors and staff were so friendly and helpful embodying the motto "Come as a Guest, Leave as a Friend!" I smacked my finger while kayaking and it would not stop hurting and the staff were very helpful in getting us to a doctor, and of course, I broke my finger (totally my fault, Momma didn't name me Grace!) who x-rayed it, bandaged it up, and I was all set after that! Amelia island is a lovely, quiet, beautiful 7-mile island and so easy to bike and very bike friendly at that time! I really enjoyed biking the island, and ocean kayaking to a nearby restaurant - I think it was The Beach Bistro, or the Oyster Bar on the pier. It was so fun to "park" the kayaks and walk up to the beach front dining! A far cry from my landlocked hometown of Huntsville, AL. My husband and I went for a quick honeymoon getaway, just 2 nights of our Florida trip because our room was booked over the weekend. We stayed in the Zen Suite which has a patio facing the street. There is a lovely wine bar with live music across the street. Both nights we sat outside and enjoyed the music but do visit Stirling Wine (I reviewed them as well, great crowd). The Zen Suite is so comfortable and thoughtfully decorated. We found everything in the room easy to operate - TV, AC, door locks. We also enjoyed the pool area. The pool wasn't heated so it was too cold for me but my husband enjoyed it. I relaxed on a lounge chair with an umbrella. We also took advantage of the breakfast promo with the red next door which was very convenient. Overall 10/10 doesn't cut it. Having a full kitchen and standard coffee pot for that lazy morning coffee was also a plus. The breakfast is fantastic. It starts at 9, and you can come and go as you please. Just sit down and your breakfast will be brought out. Another benefit of staying at the Mango Street Inn, as opposed to a standard hotel are the small amenities you get, that are often overlooked when planning a visit to the beach. For example, the beach chairs, umbrella, umbrella stake and cooler are all ready for you. Tree even put together some ice for the cooler to keep the beverages cold. You would have to rent all of that if you stayed at a traditional hotel. Also the location is amazing. Pack up your gear and walk across the street for beach access. You are also one spot down from a local breakfast gem right on the corner, where if you don't get there early you will have a wait that is well worth it. To top it off, as my wife and I were leaving, we left her iPad, and I received a phone call from Tree the next day telling me that she had it, and where could she send it.
