I will start with we will definitely be going back to the Mango Street Inn. Prior to our arrival, I…read morereceived an email from Tree, one of the owners, who set expectations regarding arrival to my wife and myself's visit for our 1st anniversary. So when we did arrive, we were able to get settled in exactly as we expected. The room looked just like the pictures that we saw on their web page which was nice. Having a full kitchen and standard coffee pot for that lazy morning coffee was also a plus. The breakfast is fantastic. It starts at 9, and you can come and go as you please. Just sit down and your breakfast will be brought out. Another benefit of staying at the Mango Street Inn, as opposed to a standard hotel are the small amenities you get, that are often overlooked when planning a visit to the beach. For example, the beach chairs, umbrella, umbrella stake and cooler are all ready for you. Tree even put together some ice for the cooler to keep the beverages cold. You would have to rent all of that if you stayed at a traditional hotel. Also the location is amazing. Pack up your gear and walk across the street for beach access. You are also one spot down from a local breakfast gem right on the corner, where if you don't get there early you will have a wait that is well worth it. To top it off, as my wife and I were leaving, we left her iPad, and I received a phone call from Tree the next day telling me that she had it, and where could she send it. As a frequent traveler, I have lost items in those big chain hotels, and I just consider them lost. Not at Mango Street Inn. To bring it back to where I started. After our first visit on our one year anniversary, it was clear to my wife and I that we had started a tradition at the Mango Street Inn with Tree & Dan. We cannot wait until next year.

Staying here felt like a ghost town. Everything was done via email and lock pad the way an Airbnb would. Breakfast was simply put out and removed in the morning. Never saw people working. The room was spacious and the bathroom was immaculate. That part we loved. The house as a whole was very lovely. Only a 15 walk from downtown. The area is very noisy though. Places to sit outside but not quiet enough to enjoy. A train blasts half the night nearby and a the secret kitchen worker is very loud from 8-8:30 even if you can't see her. Overall I'd give it more of a 3.5/5 if i could be more specific. It wasn't for us but i do think a lot of people would love it. Be warned that they market it as a B&B but it's closer to an Airbnb.

She was very helpful showing us around the house, and pointing us out to where everything was.  We had breakfast and snack items galore to make our perfect customized breakfasts at our convenience. We felt very comfortable immediately. We loved every thing including the decor, how clean it was. Our bed mattress and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was huge and had a very nice Jacuzzi. The living room, dining room, and kitchen had everything we needed and more. This home felt like paradise to us.  Our favorite place in this home was the lanai and pool.  It was just so beautiful beyond words. We loved going for a swim at night. The water was perfect. It was so relaxing, and it was an all-around spa-like feel.  We are definitely planning our next visit to Royal Bed and Breakfast. I would rather keep it a secret just for us, but I would rather not, so everyone can share the happiness and relaxation that we felt. Englewood Beach, Placida, and Boca Grande which are all beautiful beach towns are all about 15-20 minutes away. It's a great location!  We appreciate Liane very much! P.S. Mocha Coconut, our sweet, spoiled shih Tzu pup loved it as well!

Dodt house at that time was comprised of 1 room accommodations with a private bathroom and some offered a heart shaped whirlpool. In keeping with the times, the owners have retired, and the HH complex has been renovated and reconfigured with the main house now being closed to the public and the Dodt house has been remodeled to accommodate larger groups (it is now a 6 bedroom and direct Gulf Front rental - from https://annamariaisland.com/harrington-house-accommodations). I have fabulous memories of this place! It's steps from the beach, and the room costs included a delicious, filling, homemade breakfast every morning (at that time in the spacious dining room of the main house), parking, kayaks, bicycles, beach chairs, towels, snacks/cookies, and at least one swimming pool. I was really impressed with all the amenities included in the room fee!!!! The proprietors and staff were so friendly and helpful embodying the motto "Come as a Guest, Leave as a Friend!" I smacked my finger while kayaking and it would not stop hurting and the staff were very helpful in getting us to a doctor, and of course, I broke my finger (totally my fault, Momma didn't name me Grace!) who x-rayed it, bandaged it up, and I was all set after that! Amelia island is a lovely, quiet, beautiful 7-mile island and so easy to bike and very bike friendly at that time! I really enjoyed biking the island, and ocean kayaking to a nearby restaurant - I think it was The Beach Bistro, or the Oyster Bar on the pier. It was so fun to "park" the kayaks and walk up to the beach front dining! A far cry from my landlocked hometown of Huntsville, AL. If you are ever looking for a true relaxing getaway, Harrington House is your place. Each room is unique and cozy. Some rooms overlook the gulf and you can see the sunset from your room. Some rooms have a balcony. Or you can choose to stay in one of the bungalows. There you have a full kitchen, and a bit more privacy. No matter if you are in the main house, the carriage house, the cottage or a bungalow you will be treated like you are family. The breakfasts that are served are not to be missed. Each day is different, but there us always some sort of home made baked bread. Afternoons you can often enjoy home made chocolate chip cookies. Jo and Frank and their son Mark are the Inn's owners. Along with Ann, Megan and Jeanette, they all do all they can to make your visit the best that it can possibly be. The white sugary beach is just out side your door. There are rarely more than a dozen people at the beach at any one time. It is so peaceful and relaxing. Anna Maria Island is a true gem and Harrington house is the crown jewel. Thank you to all of you for creating such a paradise. Can't wait to see you again soon.
