10 out of 10. First experience ever surfing and Bundoran Surf co not only give you a great deal but are just a fab crew. Firstly 99 Euro for 2 nights accom, 2 surf lesson, board/wetsuit rental and bus to the beaches - great value for money. The instructors Josh and Erick were also great and really patient, especially when us absolute beginners were almost wiping each other out! It was also great you get some nice hot chocolate when you get back and feel a little bit fragile from the waves kicking your a**. They also hold a BBQ on Sat night for a fiver. and the place is great, just sit outside in massive area with views of the ocean or can go inside to the kitchen of the hostel (raining or getting late). But definitely going to go out here again, the people are great, the quality of equipment and instruction and the store/hostel are all top notch! read more

I've been there one months ago with a bunch of friends and everything was perfect. We arrived kinda late like 11pm and we had a staff member still waiting for us. In term of service they offer great surf initiation, if you know your stuff you can still borrow a surfboard and go on your own. For example I choose to surf one day and an horse ride for the Sunday afternoon which was perfect. Overall I strongly recommend them even if you just want to chill outside Dublin for a few day. read more

Loved our stay here. We had a three-person room with three very comfy beds, just for £20 per night, including breakfast (OJ, toast, jam, butter, cereal, and milk). The people who run this place are very friendly, and they put together a great BBQ party for the surfers during the St. Patrick's Day weekend :) Wide variety of beginner surf boards to choose from for rental, and the main surf spot is pretty sweet, too! read more

I was a little apprehensive when I went here last year with a group of friends for a birthday as I'm not a huge fan of hostels and memories of cold wet summers in Bundoran as a child were bleak. When we arrived check in was quick and our room was satisfactory. We had booked in for two days with a surfing lesson each day. The surf lodge provides all the gear needed including wetsuit, booties, a head glove if ur really froze, gloves and of course the essential for surfing....a surfboard! The instructors had done there research and found that the best waves were to be in Rossnowlagh so off we went on the schools minibus with the tunes blasting and our surfboards in tow. Once we got to the beach the instructors went through a warm up, some basics of surfing and tips on balance, positioning and how to catch that wave. Then we were let loose to hit the sea. It was brilliant craic and the instructors were really helpful and patient with us. We all managed to catch a few waves and do our best surfing USA pose before getting wiped out and diving back into the sea. Surfing lasted about 2-3 hours and then we headed back to the hostel. Here they have a huge kitchen with a pizza oven inside and a bbq outdoors with lots of seating to hangout with your friends and having a few drinks. The hostel was really comfy and felt safe. There are lots of restaurants and bars nearby also if you really want to make a night of it. All in all this is a great surf school with amazing staff and excellent facilities for a funfilled stay. Ok rental board selection. Had my own wetsuit so that was good. My travel buddy didn't and the rental suits were in pretty poor shape. Customer service was a bit standoffish but warmed up a lot once they realized I actually surf. End of the day worked out well. Low key and easy/accommodating as far as surf shops go. read more
