HORRIBLE! Recently my mother passed away and before she…read morepassed, she made her funeral arrangements and advised myself on what she wanted during her services. After she passed I was working with someone at the Northbridge location to put her services in motion. During this setup time, Jackman informed me that a friend of my mothers had called them (an hour after TOD) with concern about her service dates, stating certain dates wouldn't work for the services because it was her daughters wedding. What friend would call the funeral home and family members advising which dates wouldn't work for them? Then the funeral home tells me to keep that in mind when selecting the dates. So, We agreed on a date and was told to send over a picture for her obituary. While waiting for a return call, I advised family and friends near and far about her service date and times. I did not hear from Jackman the rest of the day as promised. That evening someone on social media advised me the dates had been changed. I advised that it must have been a mistake. NOPE! Jackman Funeral Home let my drug addict brother walk in and change the whole service arrangements without even calling to confirm with myself and the rest of the family. Needless to say my phone has been ringing off the hook with complaints and demands of refunds for plane tickets and gas money from people who traveled hours to come to my mother's services. I tried several times to reach management by phone and email. I did get a response via email days later stating " After we spoke I spoke with your brother who explained to me that you told him to handle mom's arrangements. After he spoke with your grandfather they collectively decided the **th was best. It was very important to mom to have her ashes present at her service, thus making the decision easier for the family.I was also under the impression he was going to speak with you last night. I feel badly but the arrangements have been made of the **th and it's now going to be in this weeks paper. I sent you a copy of mom's obituary yesterday for input and corrections. I take it that email didn't reach you? If you'd like to call me I'm here. Again, I'm sorry for the confusion." None of this information was true. She took his word over mine and disregarded my feelings and the law at this very difficult time. I had already warned them of issues with my brother and I was her legal proxy. I am still getting calls regarding this matter when I should be greiving for my mother. And no I never received any email regarding her obituary, and I had no say in what was written. Awful just awful. I would never use these guys again. Seriously awful. They didn't care and they have not tried to rectify any of this. Just a sorry for the confusion?

Several years ago, my wife and I decided we wanted to be proactive with our final wishes. We wanted to save the burden not only for us, but our family as well. We contacted Betsey Buma who sent Leo Dube to meet with us at our home. Leo was fantastic. He walked us through many options, and we picked the one that fit us best. Unfortunately, my wife passed away this past 29th of December. At the hospital it was such a relief not to have to go through all the hassle dealing with what to do with her remains. I was able to say we have arrangements with Buma Funeral home. The next morning, I contacted Buma Funeral Home. I spoke with Betsey Buma who had me speak with her son Jim. Everything was handled per our wishes. Such a relief!! Every part of our wishes and then some were met. Jim and staff were so helpful every step of the way. Jim went way beyond expectations especially helping with The Veteran's Association on the final location for my wife and my resting place. Hills and crosses…read more St Denis Cemetery is affiliated with St Denis Church which is just down the street. It's an interesting graveyard that isn't especially old or filled with grand and massive monuments but it does have a whole variety of different crosses as well as some fairly large and unique gravestones. The cemetery is situated on a rather steep hill that offers some nice views from the top. The hill gives the graveyard an interesting perspective and it must had been difficult to erect some of the larger stones on the steep hill. Most of the gravestones were from the mid 19th century or newer but there were a few worn gravestones that were impossible to read that might have been around before the St Denis Cemetery was official opened. A nice graveyard that is filled with interesting crosses, surrounded by stone walls and located on a steep hill with nice views.
