For several years I have purchased custom leather goods from Bullard Leather, however, they have a new ownership and the customer service has gone to the devil. On 1/6/26, I placed an order for a custom holster, received an order number and an anticipated shipping date of 3-4 weeks. In early February 2026, I contacted Bullard by telephone to get an update on my order--no returned call. I emailed---no reply, I sent text messages---no replies. This ordeal went on for over a month, with no replies. Finally, in early March, I contacted Citi Visa to seek help. They recommended that file a dispute. That was done, and Citi Visa contacted Bullard Leather on my behalf. In the interim, I also made attempts to contact Bullard Leather. It was my intent to accept the holster if it had been made and remove the dispute. Still, after 3 emails, 3 text messages and 2 telephone voicemails, I had not received any rely from Bullard. Finally, out of the "blue" I recently received an email from Bullard giving me a "ton of grief" for filing a dispute with Citi Visa and then suggesting that I should deal with them only and not contact Bullard Leather. Candidly, I do not know what is going on with this company. Today, I received notice from Citi Visa that the dispute would be closed and my account was credited for the holster purchase. Historically, they have produced excellent products, and I am still using several of their holsters. If they can get their act together, I would recommend them to any potential customer. This is a follow up to my earlier review of Bullard Leather. Here is a copy of the email I received from the owner after I filed for a refund to my credit card. Where she "CLAIMS" the custom, initialed, rifle slings I ordered had been done for a month. These slings had my grandson's initials, so if really finished, she can't sell them to anyone else. My response to her was that I would not remove the bank dispute, but I would pay for the slings, if she shipped them immediately and I received them in good condition within two weeks....You know the rest of the story....NO SLINGS RECEIVED. A business like this survives on its reputation, and Bullard Leather, as it exists today, has NO reputation, with me. You place an order with them at your own risk. I will never again place an order with them... received your dispute on my website. First let me apologize for the delay in receiving your order. I work a full time job with the government and having to work more than 40 hours a week. My shop is 70 miles from my house as well. I've had your rifle slings done for a month but I've been moving my shop to my house so I can work on leather everyday. Awfull customer service! Made item wrong and of poor quality. Item returned but not refunded and won't return my calls. Would not use them!

I recently ordered two more holsters from them. I emailed them a question late in the afternoon to see if two gun model variations would work in the same holster and what position selection on their order menu I needed to make to run their IWB holster in the appendix position. The next day first thing in the morning I had a detailed response. I placed my order for an in-stock 1911 holster and for a custom IWB for some Sigs I have. Within about 2 weeks I have them in my hands and they are fantastic. Their quality is second to none and their turn around time was amazing. I would have been happy to wait the full estimated time so it was a nice surprise when I got the shipping confirmation and the package two days later. This was my first review: I ordered a custom holster from here for a Sig 229 Legion. It came well within their estimate time and is of great quality and craftsmanship. I couldn't be happier with the holster or the price. It is an old school hand crafted product so you order and then wait until a few weeks later you get a shipping confirmation and they shipped mine USPS Priority. I have been looking for a good leather holster for my 1911 for quite some time. I made the trip to DM Bullard's while in the metroplex. The trip was well worth it. They crew at DM Bullard set me up with a belt, holster, and mag pouch for my 1911. All were in matching finish, and outstanding quality. They even had an inside the waistband holster for my Springfield XD-S. I have started the break in on the belt, holster, and mag pouch for my 1911 and the for and finish is beyond comparison. The company had an awesome website that shows what is currently in stock, and examples of custom work. My next order will be one of the flaming skulls shown on the website. The wait for a top end quality American made leather holster and accessories was well worth it. No regrets on this purchase. After having mine for a couple of years I was interested in enhancing the belt clip on it and visited their local manufacturing facility in Azle. What friendly folks they are and very accommodating. Note they have adjusted summer hours (see their website) opening as early as 5:30 AM and closing as early as 1:00 PM. N highly recommend. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. On January 26th, I contacted DM Bullard via their website (http://dmbullardleather.com/) and asked if they had their Bodyguard holster in stock (in their store) for a Glock 43 and a Ruger SP 101. I received this response: "I have them in-stock at this time. It can change by the time you get here. I will pull one of each back for you so when you come we will have both. Thank You," I thanked them for their prompt response and advised that I would contact them on Monday, January 30th to arrange a time to visit their store. They responded to this email by asking me to clarify whether I wanted the Ruger holster for a 3 1/2 or 2 ¼ inch barrel. I clarified and then followed up with a phone call on Monday, January 30 to confirm that they had the holsters and to arrange a time to pick them up on Tuesday, January 31. I was again told that they had the holsters on hold for me and that I could come any time between 8 and 5 on Tuesday. Today (Tuesday, January 31) I drove 65 miles (120 miles round trip) to purchase the holsters, only to be told that they did not have the holster for the Glock in stock. Initially, the female who was assisting us handed me the Ruger holster and dug through a tub labeled "Glock 42/43" to find the holster. THEN, she advised that it had been out of stock when I had emailed and that they were in the process of making them. Finally, she advised that she could mail it to me. IF I HAD WANTED IT MAILED, I WOULD NOT HAVE DRIVEN 65 MILES TO PICK IT UP!!! Two final notes. . .the website indicated that both of these items were in stock. And the second note is that the Ruger holster that was shown to me was not consistent in color. This is not a huge problem for me, BUT it is the reason that I want to see a product prior to purchasing it. I usually try to give small, family owned businesses great reviews and try to encourage others to purchase products from these types of businesses. However, in this case, I cannot recommend this business and would encourage others to take their business elsewhere. This was a terrible experience. read more

I am an avid gun enthusiast and have my concealed carry permit. I have had all sorts of pistols and holsters, but I had to write about the last two I purchased from D.M. Bullard Leather in Azle, TX. Renee and Ally do an amazing job and you can tell from day one that they believe it making their customers happy. I have never, ever found quality in both material nor in workmanship like what I found in the two holsters they made for me. I shoot with friends on weekends and many of them spotted the new leather holsters and asked me where I bought them. My pistols fit snug in each holster and yet I can pull out the weapon smoothly. I have had my pistols in and out of these holsters many many times and neither the holster nor the pistols shown any rub marks. Amazing quality and something anyone would be proud to wear. I was looking and researching for a left handed holster for my Glock 30 SF. After going to several stores, gun shows, and all over the Internet, I found DM Bullard. I searched their website and found their selection and quality to be the best I found from my vast research. Their pricing was very competative, and beat most everyone I had looked at. I decided on ordering a custom built ultra tuck left hand holster for my Glock 30 SF. Upon receipt of the holster, I was not disappointed. The construction was excellent, very comfortable, the construct and delivery time were perfect just as their website tells you, and my Glock 30 fits perfect into the holster. Appalling customer service. I was told 4-5 weeks for completion, and that my custom order would require the weapon to be completed. I shipped a replica which arrived in a few days, with instructions to call if they had any questions or concerns. 6 weeks later I called to check on the status, and was told their "custom guy" would be back next week to start it. The first person to answer the phone seemed fairly clueless as to what happened, but then some shrill woman came on the line and the fireworks started. While shrieking into the line and talking over me repeatedly, she wildly claimed she had told me I'd sent the gun too early and that she'd told me everything in our email. I looked over our email correspondence afterwards, but found nothing to that effect, nor had I ever spoken to her before. The only person I'd spoken to was a male who'd seemed a little slow, but friendly. After telling me she'd charge me for sending back my replica and not completing any work at all (of course), Shrill Woman hung up on me. I fully expect that these people will send back my replica via whatever method causes the maximum shipping time and inconvenience. Had I not called to inquire about the late completion time, I have no doubt another month would have passed without the slightest notification from this bunch. No pride, courtesy or organization evident in any of my dealings so far, so I cannot imagine much can be expected of their product, either. Avoid if you can. read more
