Although, the class times we wanted (Saturday or late weekday) were filled up (shocker) the staffer was able to recommend options for us, such as enrolling in the open class and place our name on a wait list (we would have been first) for the Saturday class and that we could do a free trial to see if we like the coach and class time. We ended up enrolling in the 4pm weekday class, which wasn't ideal since my DH and I both work in Durham but the gym has WiFi. So I can work during the 2 hours waiting for my daughter and make up the time leaving work early. No problem. My 12yo likes her class and coach, who is attentive to each child's skill set. Pluses: + Large gym and plenty of apparatus to work on + Staff/coaches are professional and seem to know the kids well. They're there for the kids not for us parents and that's the way it should be. I don't need to be best friends with them. Besides, a lot goes on during the class transitions and there's just no time to be chatting with parents when you're making sure that the right kids are going home with the right parents, and the kids are going to the right coaches for class. + Free trial class + Offer summer camps, track out camps and tumbling clinics + Offer big viewing room on the second floor with picnic tables and benches, and bleachers + WiFi available All in all, I'd recommend giving Gymcarolina a try.

What responsible business BULLIES a child and her family?!? I highly encourage you all to please take your business elsewhere. By the end of the class, all but one of the boys were sitting against the wall, having given up in frustration. At the same time, I enrolled my son in a tumbling class. Tumbling? Ha! Turns out I'm paying $60 a month for him to jump on a trampoline. Speaking of payments -- the owners charge for two months of class when you register. They call it "first and last month's payment." Well that's great. When I notified them that this was my son's last month, I was told that the "last month's payment" was not refundable. What? So for one of these months, I paid $120 for my son to jump on a trampoline 4x. The owners are constantly money mongering. They expect payment in advance of the month of classes. So when I enrolled my son, I paid for that month (well, paid double for that month as it turns out). Before the month was done, they were asking for payment again -- for the next month. I had assumed that March's payment would be due on March 1, April's payment would be due April 1, etc. No. March's payment is due in February, April's payment is due in March. If you pay for April's classes on April 1, they make sure to tell you that your payment is past due. Who else functions this way? The best advice I can give to anyone considering this gym is to look somewhere else. There are many other fantastic gymnastics and dance studios in the area, and I know from experience that these other studios have much better business practices.

This remains one of the worst experiences we've had with any business. Our child was subjected to…read morebullying by the teacher. Weight and controlling weight was frequently discussed and my child was 8 years old. When our child made a friend, the teacher whispered to the other child who then ignored our child. There is clearly a prejudice against children who are neurodivergent or have learning disabilities. We attempted to have a conversation with the owner about the bullying teacher and each time we were sent back to communication with the problematic teacher. The owner blatantly ignored any and all messages we sent to her. When we pulled our child, we went to another school and our child jumped forward in technique by years after only a couple of lessons. And we were told that the techniques our child learned would lead to injuries. I would avoid this place like the plague. There are much, much better places for youth to learn dance.
