While the weight loss is great, I'm feeling so much better overall and finally getting quality sleep. More importantly, my medical stats have seen a massive shift for the better, with significant improvements in my triglycerides, A1C, and cholesterol levels. There is a fantastic sense of camaraderie here, led by the owner Terry, who is very present in the gym, and a team of knowledgeable, energetic coaches. The class times are convenient, and they even offer body scans to give you detailed, data-driven feedback on your progress. In my opinion, if you can commit to a solid month here, you can establish a healthy habit that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

To get official, you need to get the app. You can go through classes and keep in contact with others. It looks like. They have all different classes. Pretty cool. Also, they call it a studio. Set up an appointment for today(1/31/23). Jackie said I need to show up 15 minutes early to get started. Did. Very nice place! Right next to Dave & Busters. I was greeted by Maddi. Very kind and welcoming trainer. Easy to talk to and happy to answer any questions. The class began and it just wasn't comfortable for me. The good thing is you have support if you want it. Unfortunately, it just wasn't for me. Definitely different and looks like a good workout. I left after the warm up. Really appreciated the kindness from Maddi.

I started at Uncaged X Fitness in May and had been doing CrossFit for a year prior. Coach Katie and…read moreCoach Melissa have raised my standards for my form and helped me improve so much as an athlete (and that confidence translates outside of the box). They calibrate their feedback to the individual and really track each of our progress. For a group setting, it feels like you're still getting a personal trainer with the social perks of working out with friends. The community has grown so wonderfully close in such a short time since opening, all with welcome arms for others. Barbell Basics and Barbell Club has helped me access movements in ways I thought it would take years for me to get! The programming for CrossFit is intentional and scalable. One of the greatest lessons I've learned at Uncaged is that on the other side of checking my ego is the better athlete... and a lot more fun. :) The coaches really emphasize all of CrossFit- the warmups and mobility work matter and are communicated with the same level of care as the metcon. Every rep is recognized as being as important as your 1rep max. If I could summarize Uncaged X Fitness and Coach Katie and Coach Melissa in one word, it would be "intentional." I will refrain from speaking on the yoga, out of principle to avoid bias (because I teach yoga here)- but I will comment on the fact that the owners are great for recognizing the focused mobility and mental health aspect to athleticism and CrossFit that can come through yoga. They also offer hinshaw (running programming), Romwod, and a qualifier track if looking to train more competitively.

Coaches here divide their attention to each individual to ensure the use of proper technique. They modify workouts to any fitness level. Since joining I have improved as an athlete both in and out of the gym. I am lifting heavier weights in the short time since joining. The workouts push me to be better. I've been doing crossfit for almost two years and I feel my true crossfit experience didn't start till i walked through the door at Uncaged. Its amazing to know that I have coaches that are there to support me in my journey of becoming a better me. I have coaches that actually listen to me and help me develop strategy on how to do a workout whether its a class workout or for a competition. Yoga is also offered which has helped with my mobility. For those who are interested in competing there is additional programming available to help prepare for a comp. The community is amazing and uplift one another. I have found myself plenty of times working off the energy of those around me, cheering me on to finish a workout. Uncaged is more than just a crossfit box, its a family! Added bonus, the gym is kept clean and the best equipment.

After moving closer to the Nees location, we started coming here regularly and were honestly shocked by the difference. Compared to the other locations, this one feels neglected. Especially during the summer, it is so uncomfortably hot inside. With temperatures being 105+ degrees lately, the A/C should absolutely be running, fans should be going, and it should not feel as muggy and stuffy as it does. The other locations don't feel this way at all. On top of that, there are times it smells unpleasant and overall just looks like it's not cleaned or maintained to the same standard. I have noticed a cleaning crew more recently, which is appreciated, but for a private gym (especially one that has won "Best Fitness Center" four years in a row) I expected much better, particularly when the other locations are so nice and well-kept. This Nees location doesn't even compare. That being said, there are definitely positives. I love the equipment selection, it's never overcrowded, and the trainers/staff have always been very friendly and helpful. I just wish this location received the same level of care as the others because it has so much potential.
