I saved a lot of money, time and hassle today because of a spam phone call this morning. I'm not kidding! So.....I get this spam phone call and called Stephen White to talk to him about it. I casually mentioned I was getting my windshield fixed tomorrow in Lilburn at Safelite and it was going to be around $1,000 (insurance wouldn't cover it). My appointment was at 1:00, (3 hours minimum) and they couldn't promise it would be $1k, might be more, depending on what they ended up having to do. Stephen said, MOM...they are the most expensive place! Did you call around for estimates?" Well, I had just asked a few people and they all said Safelite. If you know me, you will have a hard time believing I didn't call around. I squeeze a dime until it screams - but this time I didn't. I googled and found a company in Grayson that had all 5 stars with many reviewers. I called and spoke to Jonathan (who I found out later was the owner). He quoted less than half the price Safelite quoted AND THEY WOULD COME TO MY HOUSE!!! OK, now I'm listening. I want you to know he was at my house a couple of hours later, installed the windshield, calibrated it (Toyota's have to be calibrated with a windshield change), cleaned my dashboard and sat with me to explain everything he did. This is a family-owned business. Nicest man you will ever meet. I am so thankful for him and all the events that led up to this! Honest, amazing work and fun to talk to! Found a few areas that needed repair and I was happy that it was reasonable compared to taking it to a major shop. Cracks and dings are important to fix right away. They can turn into something worse so fast, so especially with the high cost of replacement, I'd gladly keep calling Brian to come out moving forward. The manager told me that the message I received was an automated message generated by the employee and that they still needed to calibrate the windshield and 30 minutes later they told me it was done. However, the car had not moved since I went to look at it earlier. They still had not attached my camera and the wires were still hanging there with the camera not attached. I then got another message saying the car was completed and to come get the keys so I did so. The car hadn't moved or been touched since I saw it earlier. Wires still hanging there with the camera on the passengers seat. I was really disappointed in the attention to detail by the management, the car needed to be 100% complete before I saw it but no, it was good enough for them so therefore the poor review. I went home and finished the wiring and camera work and then cleaned up all the dust and cleaned the windows like they should have done.
