This was my second visit, and I was surprised by how disappointing the food was this time. The chicken had a rubbery texture, which made me think it either wasn't fresh or was overcooked. The roasted beef was bland and tough. The fillet was the most frustrating--it had so many bones that it was hard to eat. At first, I thought it was just crispy, but as I chewed, I felt sharp bits that made it unpleasant. The dessert was okay, but nothing special. It took the un-trained staff to figure out to start writing names down after 2hrs since openning for dinner. Causing people to crowd & push at the door. A total; NO-NO in this COVID 19 world. Causing people to argue and fight at the door. Its simple to have the Host station at the door. To coordinate with the servers to seat people and line people between walk ins and reservations. This a sad excuse for a business masquerading as a highend establishment. Note to the owner: Spend more time training your managers, your host and servers... I left this place as it could have gotten bad. Where people would have started fighting. I would never spend my American dollars in a such a unorganized place. We usually opt for Vikings when it comes to availing birthday promos and celebrate, but yesterday I gave Buffet 101 a chance to impress me. The verdict? A total let down. One, the place was a sauna. Air Conditoning was defunct that my senior mom was forcing us to leave immediately or else she would have a stroke due to the heat. Two, there are only two choices of pasta dishes and both were mushy and overcooked. Third, limited choices of drinks. Fourth, Only one choice of pizza. Roast Beef was bland even with gravy. Pineapple was inedibly sour and finally, you have to report if you want a birthday plate for the celebrant and no birthday song for that matter. They would only choose a big group for that with the wait staff that was frugally accomodating.​ So yes, regrets come last and I'll just say...I lost that one from my go to place. read more

Buffet 101 is located at City Times Square across the street from Park Mall in Mandaue. Parking is limited if you want to park right up front of the restaurant. When you pull into City Times Square, head on over to the garage area pass Liv, take a right then another right and you'll arrive at Buffet 101's open air parking area. We made a reservation because we were a party of 16 and it was a Saturday for a 6 pm seating. We arrived and a receptionist seated us. It was a Saturday night and as expected, crowded. As the rest of the group was still situating themselves with seating arrangements I went ahead and browsed their offerings. In one end, they offered a variety of Asian-themed food. Sushi, Japanese omelette, tempura to live shrimp cooked to order and of course, Filipino dishes. They had different kinds of soups and even congee. The middle area consisted of a small salad bar, desserts, and beverages. For those who are wondering, they do have beer on tap. Not sure the brand though. They also had sangria (wine). On to the other end of the buffet. I frequented this area as they offered roast beef, chicken and pork. I was told they had lamb as well. They had mashed potatoes, a diy sandwhich area, pizza, and pasta to just name a few. After browsing I grabbed a plate. I started with the roast beef in medium and pizza. Later, I went for the mashed potatoes. Fyi: ask your server for the steak knife, if your in need of one. They also had a station for cook to order seafood. Staff: The waiters and waitresses were all very quick to please. Once you requested something a few moments later they would arrive with your requested item, promptly. Though at times you had to flag one of them down, it is to be expected at a buffet. The birthday singing at each birthday celebrant's table was absolutely entertaining. Cost: We did their birthday promo and there were a few in the group celebrating their birthday month. Paying adults are at 839 pesos each on a Saturday night. (Dinner seating) Their birthday promo allows the celebrant to complimentary dine given they had 3 paying adults in their group. Overall: Despite having to always hunt down in finding a plate for each go at the buffet, the overall experience at Buffet 101 was fantastic. I won't deny we came on a expectation that the service would be sub par, due to various other reviews mentioning this. However, we were delightly surprised that our first experience here was enjoyable. The food, especially the roast beef and grilled salmon, were delicious and seasoned just right. If Buffet 101 wasn't a ways from where we stay, I'd definitely visit again even if it isnt for a special occasion. No wifi. Free Parking. Restrooms were clean, but had an odor. read more

tl;dr the food is amazing, and especially so for the price. My perspective is a bit different from a local's perspective. I pay a lot more in the US for single entree dinners than I did in Buffet 101, while having access to a dizzying amount of food. I rate restaurants based on their price and overall experience relative to that price, and I'd have to say that buffet 101 is definitely worth it. Food: Various cuisines from around the world is tackled, and it's not just the quantity that they hit, the quality is at worst decent for a specific thing, and at best is great for another. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Cebu, or even the ones that live there and is wondering which of the numerous buffets to choose from. read more

This is a super asian buffet. Its about the average size of a big Vegas buffet. For 799 pesos for dinner it's worth it. The seafood quality is really good. You can't get seafood any fresher. The live shrimp comes right out of the tank to pot or grill. So fresh so good! About 90% of the buffet items are international asian and the rest are westerner items. They also have self serve San Miguel beer on tap. That itself is worth it. read more

As a balikbayan who has experienced food from around the world it can be said that while buffet 101 lacks in authenticity makes up for in quantity and surprising quality for a buffet. Buffets are not my thing so bear with me. The ambiance is has a very high end feeling and staff was attentive so yay for that. First off let me say the draft beer and sangria on a self serve tap is genius and would probably be illegal in Canada. However the sangria was not the greatest, could be sweeter and colder. The beer is SM so basically piss. If it was flavoured (Apple) I'd be happier Standard mix of Japanese, Chinese, and western. Lamb roast was dry my exes personality. Pizza was soggy. However the fish is great as they are made to order. The noodle bar is limited however worth a try. i've been told this is a Manila based restaurant so expectations and anticipation has been high among the lovals. First impressions, they have a great variety of good selection, including stations that will cook pasta anf grill seafood. The ambiance is great, dare insay it konfa like that og a nice hotel. The staff ver attentive and friendly. The Japanese section was excellent in my opinion though i found their roasr beef on the dry side, other than that thus a place i will visit every so often if i want a variery. read more

THERE ARE LOTS OF CHOICES OF FOOD. I am not exaggerating. It is a huge buffet and it's hard to taste everything. The food is delicious, the place is classy, the service is great, and the variety of food is wide. My only problem is that there are too many people and the place can get noisy at times and instead of having a relaxed dinner with my family at a high class buffet, i have to keep up with all the noise. This is a wonderful buffet and service is great. They really treat senior citizens outstanding. Food was delicious and filling. There is a carving station, Japanese food section and of course philipino section, a dessert, shake, and beverage section also. read more
