The server that we had (another bothered employee) literally said..."if no one else is taking care of you, I guess I will. Food - buffalo chicken wrap... chicken was nearly nonexistent and burnt. During our cross country trip, we stop for the night in Effingham, IL. From the hotel we walk down to Buffalo Wild Wings with our dog and sit outside. The patio isn't for everyone as the nearby highway can be loud but it's perfect for us to sit with our dog, have a beer and food. We were lucky and had a great waitress (Christine) who brought out a bowl for the puppy, took our drink order and quickly returned, even apologized for the wait due to the slow pour of Guiness. We sat and decompressed from our long days ride, when our drinks were almost done, she magically appeared and took our order and request for refills. The kickin chicken sandwich was great, just the right amount of heat, the nachos were good along with the salsa. We got a plain hamburger for the dog. We always get great service here no matter what time we get there, this time it was around 6 pm, previously in Octobers visit, it was 3 pm. This location has always been a solid choice, great service (especially if Christine is working) and good food. We will be back in October for more wings, beers and outdoor service. read more

Most of the time waitress won't even come check on you so enjoy your one drink while you wait an hour for the coldest food you've ever eaten and this is when they're slow can't imagine how awful it is when they're busy. I'm not sure we've had worse service at a Buffalo Wild Wings. We were traveling bacj home from St Louis with our 3 kids (2 toddlers) and stopped in Effingham for lunch. We say bdubs and thought this would be a good option for semi-quick and good food. We could tell when we walked in that they were pretty empty but also seemed to have very few staff working. They got us seated in about 10 minutes and got our drink and food orders pretty quickly. The waitress did not visit our table again until after our food came out (45 minutes later). No drink refills, no apology for the delay. I had to go up and ask the to go desk how much longer it would be before our food came before it came out. Our wedges were made incorrectly and they did voluntarily comp them, however, the waitress didn't even say anything about it when she brought the check and again, no apology for the prolonged wait. The food was good, but man, the service was awful. It's one thing to be waiting an hour to eat when it's adults but dealing with this with a 2 and 4 year old was pretty frustrating. My son and I visited on April 29, 2025 sat at the bar ordered dinner "burger and wings" waited 50 minutes for food with zero follow up from our disinterested waitress. I was in Effingham this past weekend to visit family. What better place to go than Buffalo wild wings? Our order was taken and it was an hour and a half before we got our food. To our shock and dismay it was cold. When the waitress finally came back we told her of the problem and she said it would take about 15 minutes to remake the food. About 20 minutes later she came back with the food. After we finished eating we were given the check for almost $90. Can you believe that? As I went to the counter to pay I asked to speak to the manager. He was a young man maybe his mid-20s. As I was telling him of the problem he was smirking at me. Not very professional if you ask my opinion. After all of that I asked if I could get some kind of discount. He smirked again and said the most that he could offer me was 10%. What a joke! There's nothing worse than visiting a restaurant and feel like your interrupting an employee get together. Three waitresses at the bar, two in a booth and the bartender could stop going over to sit and talk with the waitresses at the table. The men's bathroom was a mess, the soap dispenser was out and the under the sink trash can was sitting in the middle of the room. I was in town for job training for a few days, placed an online order. Super convenient, easy and prompt service. I was able to keep an eye on my order online and was notified when it was ready. This chain restaurant is typical of what you would expect from a BWW. It is generally full most times I've been here and can get jammed during peak sport seasons, especially for football. The service is hit and miss and certainly affected when it gets packed. But, for the most part I would say the service deserves a solid 3 stars, and on occasion 4 stars, and I've not experienced crappy service here. The wings and sandwiches are good and do the trick. Nothing special or worth bragging about. I've found this location to be a trustworthy spot for lunch. When doing dinner, best to come just before or after the typical peak dinner time rush. For those of you travel from out of town and stopping in here, peak dinner starts at around 4:30 and goes to around 6. Unless of course there is a big time game on in the evening, then it can go well past 6. read more

It takes ten minutes to even have a waiter or waitress come to the table to get our drink order. I have had my food brought to me wrong 2 out of the 3 times and it's not a complicated order. Went at prime time on a Sunday. Our waitress got our game on a big screen after asking about different tvs numerous times with a friendly smile. Summer, our waitress, was always prompt in making sure we were taken care of. She was friendly, suggested items when asked and I was never looking for someone needing something.
