Nothing to dislike here. Haircuts are consistent, staff is friendly. Price is about average if not slightly higher than other similar haircut chains. Luckily they sometimes have coupons in various neighborhood mailers. Also conveniently located near a lot of other retail (Transit Rd) so you can knock out a few errands at the same time. read more

This is a pretty boogie salon for males. It has a nice ambience and the salon clearly appreciates and supports our Buffalo Bills and Sabres. From vintage to current memorabilia, it's all fun to look at. The salon has you sign into a computer when you walk in. There's a pool table, but I haven't seen anyone using it the 2 times my husband came to get his hair cut. There's 3 main flat screen T.V.'s in the waiting area and 6 tiny flat screens at every hair cut station! The salon was clean both times we visited. The brand products they sell: AG Style, American Crew, Architect, Cerafill, Chi, and Redken. All products are made in the U.S.A. and CANADA! Some products are cruelty free and/or paraben free! I wish there was a referral program because I asked for recommendations from friends on Facebook and one of my friends recommended Buffalo Trim. Based off of reviews and price point, we chose this place. Since there's so many places to get a hair cut, it'd be nice if there was a referral program. Every single time I come here I sit for 20-25 minutes while 3 stylists just chill in the back. Then when someone finally cuts your hair it's always uneven and not what you asked for. My haircut is extremely simple, 1.5 on sides and back, a little longer than finger length on top. Simple cut. But yet every time here they mess it up. This past time was the final straw, told her exactly what I wanted she starts going to town on it. Gets to the top and takes a comb full of hair and snip. "Is that good enough?" She asks after taking it down to finger length and making it essentially a buzz cut. Maybe take less first instead of being in such a rush to go back to chit chatting in the back. Cut the hair correctly and you wouldn't have lost a customer. read more

I've been a customer of Buffalo Trim for a little over 2 years. I started out at the N. French (near Transit) location on a whim one random Winter day. My first few cuts were great, what I wanted, and varied only by the stylist giving them. The always random staff, thanks to the "I don't really mind" option of their sign-in computer, were always nice, friendly, chatty, and skilled. My favorite of the bunch was Lindsay, whom is not only an amazing person, but someone who excels at her job. She recently moved to this new location (Main, near transit) and I followed! The new place faces Main st., just before Transit crosses into Clarence. It is almost diagonal from Buffalo Brew Pub. If you know where TGI Fridays is, then you should be able to find Buffalo Trim. The main entrance opens into a waiting area that can accommodate about a dozen people. The waiting area chairs are a level of comfort that will induce relaxation. The front counter is located in this area, this is where you'll sign-in, and later pay for your services. To the left, tucked behind a half wall, is a pool table and down the hall to its right are coat hooks. Buffalo Trim offers a variety of services from grey blending and hair washing, to cuts and neck shaves. Each services comes with a different price point, so be sure to ask questions before moving forward. I'm a simple person who likes an uncomplicated existence. Rarely am I indulged by such simplicity as when I interact with Lindsay. She knows exactly how to treat me, always takes the time to ask about my day, and nails my simple cut with perfection each and every time. She really is a gem and Buffalo Trim is lucky to have her in their employ. As for the facility itself, it's clean, well maintained, and well stocked. They have television sets everywhere playing sporting events. Really, this place caters to men but would be a great business for anyone to get a cut at. The staff, those I have interacted with, are extremely friendly, skilled, and always take the time to make sure you are informed, comfortable, and made to feel welcomed. To start, I had kept my hair long for years. But as it started to thin too much, time to get a haircut. I used Yelp to locate any places I had not been to near where I live. I saw the general rating, which was good. The price being moderate helped, but even more that they are up front with the pricing. When I got there, this is quite obvious - the pricing is posted in the window before even opening the door. I was greeted by Tina at the desk you check in with. I had never been here, so I was surprised to see how close I had been to it for years. Not just that my bank is 2 doors down in the same building, but that I was taking music lessons at the next building over. Ok, enough of that. On check in you are asked how you heard of the establishment. I had to select "other" and told Tina it was through Yelp. Next you can select which stylist you want, or select next available. I chose this and Tina showed me over to her station. I was pleasantly surprised that she easily worked around my mask and cut my hair just as I wanted. The conversation while she was cutting my hair was engaging and very friendly. I will definitely consider returning when i need another haircut. And just like the website shows. This place is super nice and prices that are very reasonable. $19 will get you the whole enchilada which includes a haircut, neck shave, and shampoo. My only qualms were the neck shave was done really quickly and usually when I get my hair shampooed, they also use conditioner after the first wash which didn't happen here. Buffalo Trim gets a 5 star rating from me. Want to know why, well I'll tell ya. I'm basing this review off of the 5 haircuts I've gotten from them (to date). 4 of them were 5 star hair cuts, and 1 of them was a 3.5 star hair cut. That's very solid in my book. Without factoring in the price, BT ranks as the top spot I've gotten a haircut from. I've been to nicer salons in Williamsville to chains in Amherst to barbers in North Buffalo. The best part is that Buffalo Trim is the same price as what you'd spend at Super Cuts. Hell yeah, now we're talkin'. Not to mention, Buffalo Trim has awesome Buffalo sports memorabilia on the walls - like the signed Darryl Talley poster right when you walk in. Badass. It's a surprisingly classy establishment for an inexpensive cut. The hair stylists are personable and IMO more attractive than the talent over at Lady Jane's (which is surprising since that's LJ's niche, right?). I can't comment on other Buffalo Trim locations, but I bet there just as good as the one on Main and Transit. I can always appreaciate a locally owned/Buffalo themed business that outperforms their corporate competition in BOTH price and quality. Well done fellas. P.S. it's in an underrated plaza with T.G.I. I used to have the best hairdresser but we recently moved and I was forced to find someone else. I took my son to buffalo trim in williamsville and didn't leave happy. The hair dresser does not know how to cut. There are parts of my son's hair that look like they were missed. Some parts are uneven. I think her name was Michelle, Melissa or something that starts with an "m". Honestly, I didn't care to remember bc I am not planning to come back. This hair dresser is no better than someone at Supercuts. My husband has never commented on my son's haircut and the first thing he said was that it was bad. The sad part is that as it dried it looked worse. And the more I pay attention, the more mistakes and sloppy work I see. There was no paper barrier for the neck which made those annoying tiny little hair fall into my son's shirt down his back . The 7 minute drive home sucked bc he couldn't wait to get into the shower. read more

My stylist Jennell did an amazing job on my weird hair (which has left several prior stylists pulling their own hair out, lol - this ain't an easy head of hair to deal with!). Jennell explained all the available services, prices, and recommended products, took her time, and really made me feel like she cared about her work.
