Everyone we interacted with was friendly and knowledgeable, especially Doug who knew the answers to all of our questions! He let us know about the extended tour as well so we plan to come back so we can see the rest of the house and additional buildings. There was a bit of distant thunder so we, and many others packed up their chairs and picnic baskets before the rain. I did not know this play so I read the synopsis ahead of time. There are a lot of characters and in this performance, some actors seemed to be playing more than one part. I think this was helpful to have read the synopsis first. The play is performed with modern touches: a telephone and several rock 'n' roll songs sung. It's a lovely way to spend an evening, even though we left after the first claps of thunder.

I was travelling and for Friday prayers I need to find a masjid and this place showed up in Google. They have a washroom on site and made about 5 or 6 wudu places. The imam gave a good Friday kutba and seems like they also teaching Arabic and Quran as there was a blackboard inside. After the Friday prayers they were giving out various bread for people to take home for free which was pretty nice. It's a residential area so there is plenty of parking on the road.

Unfortunately this is also one of many, many neighbourhoods in Buffalo where I've experienced either subtle or occasionally severe racism. Which is ironic, since my mother was Irish. But my Italian or Mediterranean sides are the dominant ones in the way I look, and that's why, I suppose, some people have it in for me from the first look. Or maybe there's other reasons. But it's one of many amazing historical and culturally rich pieces of Buffalonian history.
