It was a stunning fall day, the air was crisp and the parking lot was totally packed. What a…read moregorgeous day to explore Robbers Cave. We brought a picnic and the fur babies and made a day of it! The only tiny complaint was the QR codes were scratched out so there was no way for people to pay for parking. A sign update is definitely needed but this was during the government shutdown so I'm sure that wasn't available. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked, trails were in excellent shape, trash cans were pretty full due to all the people but not overflowing. If you can make it on a week day it would be a lot easier to find parking. This is an Oklahoma must do!

I checked in for the annual fall festival that always falls during fall break in October. It's a…read morefabulous festival with car show, tons of food options, and great vendors to shop. They have a carnival and inflatables for kids too. But this state park itself is one of my favorites. I've been going since I was a child, and the lake is so beautiful. I love to rent a paddleboat! They have yurts to rent, putt putt golf, and a snow cone/coffee stand that has become better and better over the years. The lookout kitchen is finally open after that whole debacle with the state, but I need to go back and try it. The building is beautiful though and right in the water. We've camped here in our RV too, and the spots are spacious, quiet, and very woodsy. It's always fun to hike up to the cave too. The history of this area is so cool. The trails are great, and there are options for ability levels. I always go green or yellow. You can often find people rappelling too! Definitely give this state park a try.

We stayed in a one bedroom cabin duplex for 3 nights in January 2017. Because the leaves had fallen…read morefor winter we had a LOVELY view of the lake right from our main cabin windows. From the time we booked over the phone to the late check out they granted us, we had a great time! We came here to get away from the city and get some work done remotely. Although they don't have wifi we were able to use the hotspots on our phones; we use MetroPCS and it was perfect! We cooked meals and enjoyed the full kitchen, made a fire in our fireplace, and watched a football game on the mounted T.V. The park itself offers some fun like disc golf, putt-putt mini golf, and a splash park which we look forward to enjoying in the spring when we bring our kids. Some things to note: The cabin was spacious. There's enough room for the sofa bed and a king air mattress if needed. Lots of windows to experience the beauty of nature indoors. The lovely large padded rocking chair by the fireplace was a nice touch too! They provide all linens, dish soap, bath soap, and shampoo. Bring your own paper towels, coffee filters, and foil. I don't remember seeing salt or pepper either, but we never needed it. This is a duplex so if someone is staying on the other side of you, expect to hear them. The walls are very thin in between. If you want to rent both sides out there's a convenient inner door like some hotel suites offer for you to go through. The water gets hot quick which made showers and hand washing dishes nice with the cold temps outside. The heaters worked great. They are gas, Cozy heaters (the kind that are built through a wall to heat 2 rooms). The major downside to these are that when they turn off they are annoyingly noisy for around 20 mins. After being awoken the first night by them we decided to pre-warm the cabin the next 2 nights then turn the thermostat way down as not to come on/off and wake us in the night. We also added the extra blanket to our bed which they provided in the dresser drawers. This worked perfect for us. Overall we highly recommend this place. The views alone are gorgeous and the staff we spoke with were welcoming and accommodating.

No camp host. No one anywhere. We were so far from the hookups that our cords and hoses wouldn't reach. Pulled out, parked on the grass close enough hook up water and electric. Water hookup leaked continuously even though my husband tried to repair it. Here's the kicker...no place to put trash! Showers were hideous. No dry place to put your stuff while you showered. No fire pit to cook our food. Had a grill. It was so close to our new camper pad that we couldn't use it . Guess where we won't be camping again?
