A sign update is definitely needed but this was during the government shutdown so I'm sure that wasn't available. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked, trails were in excellent shape, trash cans were pretty full due to all the people but not overflowing. If you can make it on a week day it would be a lot easier to find parking. This is an Oklahoma must do!

They have a carnival and inflatables for kids too. But this state park itself is one of my favorites. I've been going since I was a child, and the lake is so beautiful. I love to rent a paddleboat! They have yurts to rent, putt putt golf, and a snow cone/coffee stand that has become better and better over the years. The lookout kitchen is finally open after that whole debacle with the state, but I need to go back and try it. The building is beautiful though and right in the water. We've camped here in our RV too, and the spots are spacious, quiet, and very woodsy. It's always fun to hike up to the cave too. The history of this area is so cool. The trails are great, and there are options for ability levels. I always go green or yellow. You can often find people rappelling too! Definitely give this state park a try.

It was better shaded before they improved it with the new sports complex, but at least they did plant trees to replace the ones that were torn down. Unfortunately, it will take a while to grow big enough to provide decent shade. That said, it's still a nice walking park. You can get about a mile by walking the trail once. It starts in the parking lot, wraps around a pond and then back to the parking lot. Oreo like it!

I couldn't tell if this is people who don't care or perhaps it was windy enough to blow trash out of the trash cans. Pathways have been added to get park goers from point to point without the need to trudge through muddy wet ground when it is rainy season. The playground surfaces are all weatherproof, which is a fantastic addition to the playground. This park has plenty of space for picnic and pavilions for parties. It has a train that operates seasonally through the park that features a tunnel and other exciting activities. There is a large city pool also included in the park that has a brand new structure, including a very nice competitive swim area stands, diving area, etc, along with changing rooms, showers, concessions, etc. There is also a putt putt course located within the park. Additionally, the park includes a tennis center and tennis lessons as well as organized tennis events and a tennis league.

Everything is in working condition, and there are a few wonderful trees that give lots of shade from the afternoon sun.
