Finally, something to break up the boring monotony of getting drunk with your friends: tasting beer and remarking on it's "complexity" smugly while you do it.
In Buffalo, drinking beer usually means Bills tailgate, Bills victory, Bills defeat, Tuesday night bridge club or any other arbitrary reason that did or does tickle your fancy. It's nice to be able to add Buffalo On Tap to this too short list of excuses.
For some extra coin (I think it was $20 more), you can opt for VIP treatment affording you a free snack, a roped off section to drink in and an extra pre game hour of drinking before the rest of the masses get in. Although it's nice to feel special, it wasn't incredibly important to me because, and I can't emphasize this enough, I didn't need any more time drinking at a beer tasting event... I was plenty drunk enough without it, believe me. The biggest benefit was the lighter crowd and cooler temperatures in the convention center that first hour without so many people breathing in your precious O2.
It isn't just the standard smelly, fat guys like yourselves, attending Buffalo On Tap. You'll be amazed how many girls attend this event. Better yet, they all seem to be doing a Vince-Vaugh-Owen-Wilson-Wedding-Crashers-thing too, so if you play your cards right, you'll be too drunk to remember how much you embarrassed yourself in front of them when you wake up at the holding center in the morning. Just go ahead and receive from your cell mate that congratulatory high five he offers you because I'm sure you earned it. read more
