I parked across the street from this place for the weekend. I was really looking forward to watching the Boots Ennis fight, (but all they had playing was that UFC Speedo fighting), get some grub, and throw a dollar or two into a slot machine so I moseyed on over around I'd say 6:00 p.m.? The whole venue itself is pretty big. Including this restaurant, they have another restaurant called 'the hub' which is for more like teeny boppers and families, a bowling alley, a movie theater, a sports bar and of course slot machines and table games. It cracks me up when people write bad reviews complaining about a casino that smells like smoke. IT'S A FRIGGIN CASINO! You don't like the smoke (which dissipates very fast anyways) then don't go into a casino! Anyhow I digress let's get to the restaurant. I wasn't aware that they closed at 8:00 p.m. on a Saturday night. But most native American casinos have weird hours and do weird things (trust me I've been to plenty all over the country). But as I sat down at the bar, my less than happy, emphatic waitress/bartender asked me if I would like to order something to drink, which I said yes, and I wanted food also and she said 'well we close in 20 minutes so'.. I felt a rush to get me out of there. I didn't feel very valued at that point. But the reason for the fourth star is because all the other bartenders and servers stepped in and were super super nice. Especially the one girl bartender that was bringing me drinks to my machines and blackjack table. And I did sort of eat in a rush because I felt pressured. One gripe, is when I was ready to get my check, I was just sitting there for about 10 or 15 minutes. A couple of the other bartender / waitresses ask me who my server was, and I looked around and didn't see her. So I told them I wasn't sure. About 6 or 7 minutes later comes out of the back and says "sorry I was on break". Well you guys are closing in literally 5 minutes, so exactly why are you taking a break if you're about to leave? That kind of upset me but whatever. I ordered the rib plate, with a side of okra. It came with a roll, and a dinner salad which is actually really really good size. I ordered fried pickles as an appetizer. My salad came out almost immediately, so I scarfed that down, then about 20 minutes, my appetizer and entree came together. My waitress said "sorry they cooked them at the same time." But I didn't really care, considering apparently they were getting ready to close. The fried pickles were super good, and there were a lot for the price. Actually cost wise, it was a lot of food for what I paid. The fried okra was typical, it was good and hot and they even had a bottle of Louisiana Red Dot which is a MUST for southern food. The ribs.... The ribs I think are steamed, then baked with barbecue sauce, and then another layer of barbecue sauce. Of course they were tender and the bones came right out, and tasted overall okay. If I ever came back I would probably order it again, especially if I was a regular. All in all I had a great experience at this place. Everyone from the bar staff to The pit Boss, for the exception of my bartender/waitress at supper we're all super nice, especially the maitre d who greeted me immediately upon coming through those glass double doors. If I'm ever in Tonkawa again, I'll DEFINITELY be going back! read more

Grilled shrimp and chicken fried steak were both worth eating along with loaded mashed potatoes! Cat our server was on it, she ran circles around other servers! Kept the drinks full and very nice young lady! Will definitely go back. Drive over an hour for dinner and a movie! Clean booth and even being inside a casino we could talk and relax! read more

Walked in 45 minutes before closing, after traveling all day, the staff was gracious and did not hurry us to order, eat or pay, The mushroom appetizer was perfectly deep fried with a hint of spice, served with ranch dressing for me and thousand island for my husband. After the mushrooms and my husbands dinner salad I could have called it a day, but I'm glad I ate my special dinner of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a roll, they were beautifully cooked you could get white or brown gravy, and everything was sooo tasty. My husband had the sirloin, cooked to a perfect medium, along with French fries, we each brought some home (to our RV) to finish later. Daniel, our water was the perfect combination of present without being intrusive. He refilled our drinks whenever they were getting low and chatted with us about our travels, again attentive but not intrusive. My only complaint is having to walk through a terribly smoky casino to get to the restaurant. read more

Was ignored by three bartenders that were gossiping directly in front of me. I just sat there hoping they'd look my way. I won't return.

My wife and I ordered dinner this evening. I ordered a cheeseburger with everything EXCEPT pickles. My wife ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. We finally got our food (without condiments). My burger was loaded witgh pickles and they were all i could taste with my first and only bite. The chicken on my wife's sandwich was cold and so tough that a steak knife was needed to cut it. We finally got the condiments after we had to chase down a waitress. I went to dress up my sandwich and the bun was totally burnt. Needless to say, we sent our plates back to the kitchen, laid the money down on the table for the check, and left. I can't say tghat I will ever eat there again. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Avoid this place if you ever want good food. read more

Small dining area next to the lounge. Food was good took a bit of time to come out. Serves breakfast all day. Had chef salad and it was freshly made good quality ingredients. Onions rings had good crisp to them but batter didn't really have much to it. Omelette and hashbrowns were also good. No flavored creamer for coffee. Waitress was not a great listener as she gave me a different salad than I ordered and I only wanted 1/2 order of onions rings and she came out with a full order. read more

This is the "nice" restaurant in the Tonkawa Hotel & Casino. We left a message for a reservation because their line was busy, but found out just before dinner that they did not have a record of it. We redid the reservation and everything was fine. Things turned south in the restaurant, though. It's tucked away right next to the casino, and the constant dining of bels from the gaming machines is deafening. Wife ordered a drink that was so badly made, she sent it back. My drink was very weak. Both were served in one-pint beer glasses instead of their proper cocktail glasses. Menu featured fish of the day and Salmon salad. But the waitress said neither was available. She ordered grilled chicken breast. Something came on the plate...but was hammered flat and was tasteless. My baby back ribs were good. But my wife ordered a vinegar based dressing for her salad, which was made in the kitchen...but she said it was terrible. My ranch dressing, also made in house, was quite good. So was the baked potato that came with each dinner. The vegetables were canned, served in a small side dish. Neither of us ate them. When we tried to order dessert, there was none available. We later got some ice cream at a concession stand elsewhere in the building. All in all, a disappointing experience. Not recommended. read more
