Really great brewery! They have staples and seasonals and I haven't tried one that I really didn't like. They do fun games like Slingo on every other Friday night which is a blast and I believe they have karaoke nights though I've never been there's usually a food truck outside in case you get hungry and it changes up so you never get bored. They occasionally have live music, so put your dancing shoes on. There's nothing fancy about this place but who cares it's FUN! read more

This is just what Ponca City needed...an adult hangout spot with good drinks, games, and no cigarette smoke! I live in Oklahoma City now, but my parents are still in Ponca-- in the past, friends and I twiddled our thumbs over the holidays on where to hang out or what to do in the evenings, but Vortex has solved that problem!! I love to go here and Ponca City is very lucky to have it and I do like beer. But... all the beer is IPAs or really heavy hoppy beers, I wish they had one that was more of a Pilsner or a lighter beer for the ladies. Please Vortex, most women do not like real heavy beers and even if I do drink a heavier beer I can only drink 1. Your business would pick up if you had just one lighter beer on the menu. I hope someone from Vortex sees this as I would LOVE to give them my business. read more

It's the only brewery in town so I didn't know what to expect. Being from Colorado I'm kinda spoiled. These guys are producing some solid brews. One is a featured, exclusive beer at a casino not too far away. Everything I had was great. The lady behind the counter was friendly and provided recommendations. The beer is certainly the main attraction. You will pay for it. It's not a typical anything you might expect. You just go in, order beer and leave if you like. One could stay and drink if they chose to do so I suppose. There isn't any darts or billiards. You'll not find any smoke inside. During certain times when they open, outside on the street curb next to the Vortex will be a food truck or cart. The purveyors of food are regulars who set up like a local band. Playing their set list and drawing their crowd signals the end of the show. Their job is finished and inside the cool wooden and tin clad corner store is more beer. In all honesty it is a pretentious place to be. Normal folk you would find in normal bars who drink normal beer would tell you it's not necessary. So in that is the key to it's purpose. Go there when you want to impress your buddy from out of town. Go when you want to feel self important. Or go when normal beer no longer suits your taste. I have given four stars because this place is still developing. It's incomplete. And the beer is really good. read more

If you enjoy craft beer this is a great stopping point if you're driving through Northern Oklahoma. Super quaint, always have six good beers on tap, sometimes have a food truck out front. They have a little munchies snacks if there's no food truck around. I recommend you try the flight to get the full experience, a hidden gem in Ponca City. read more

I've posted previously but want to again. Thumbs up to this local brewery. They are now in a few local restaurants. We even saw the waitresses at Rib Crib wearing VORTEX Tees! Great stuff. My favorite brew they have ever done is FATHER CARSON PROJECT! They need to do this one again. The next two favorites which make it on the boards with some regularity are AmberDextrous Ale and Tropic Thunder IPA. Both are excellent. They can also fill 32oz CANS now for take out. This is one great local business that has made an impact on the area. It is revitalizing an area that was probably headed for razing at some point. Great JOB GUYS and GREAT BREWS! read more
