When I come to BAT, I immediately feel like I'm gently and warmly being hugged by a practitioner who truly cares for his clients. Craig and his place of business are amazing.
I started a new job in April and was having issues with my legs and feet, which started on my vacation the month before but hadn't resolved like I thought they would. I was super concerned. But thanks to certain shifts in the universe, my current health insurance limits the number of medical appointments I can have in a year, and charges a ridiculous amount for a visit co-pay. It was an avenue I was nervous to go down because of the potential cost to me, mostly. A co-worker recommended I try acupuncture here, since she is a client and has had great results with it.
The online schedule is the BEST. I much prefer choosing a time online, than calling any place of business. It takes me less than 20 minutes to get here from UB North Campus, which is totally great. And then I get to travel the 190 along the water on my drive home, and that makes me happy!
When you're looking for the building, use Santasiero's as your land marker. Don't turn onto the cross street where Santasiero's is though- that parking isn't for BAT. My coworker told me to look for the mural of a beautiful koi fish on the building but if cars are parked in front, you won't be able to see the painting and may fly right by it, like I did. :)
Anyway, when I got in, it was like walking into an oasis of calm. I filled out some paper work, had a good chat with Craig about my current ailments and issues, and then he gently guided me into the back shared practice space. I was only there with a couple of other people on my first visit. I chose the chair I felt most comfortable in, and Craig got started placing needles into what I assume are my energy meridians. I didn't feel much, save for a little pinch here or there. And then the sweet sweet slumber washed over me. I was out like a light. This is normal, BTW.
When I woke up, I figured I'd been out for maybe 10 or so minutes. Got my shoes and socks on, headed toward the front door to pay ($15-40 based on what you feel you can pay). First off, I had to pee so badly, and I was very thirsty too. I used the restroom, eventually got in my car, and bam! It was 1.5 hours after I had checked in! SAY WHAT?!?! I really zonked out!
Not only was that the best power nap of my life, but my issue was completely amazingly resolved by the next morning. I noticed the results lasted maybe 3 weeks before I had another flare, so I made an appointment and went back. Same awesome power nap the second time, and same great results the next day!
I freaking LOVE this place. Craig is so gentle and reassuring. His presence feels like that warm enveloping hug. So nice! I will continue to come back as needed. It's already saved me hundreds of dollars! And I've never felt so well taken care of nor had the best power nap of my life in any medical office, so there's that too. read more
