From the first moment we emailed/Skyped, it was like she just "got" my (then fiancé) husband and I. Courtney is out of Fort Wayne, and our wedding was in Indianapolis - but that didn't matter at all! Courtney came to Indy a few weeks before our wedding and we walked the venue and blocks around it (in 20-degree weather!) to determine exactly where we wanted shots, where to avoid, etc. Courtney was there for the rehearsal, through the entire day of the wedding and stayed through the later part of the reception. She made sure to capture what we wanted but also had super creative ideas that she directed us into for the best pictures. Her turnaround time is super quick too - our wedding was just before Mother's Day and she had no problem editing a few family shots in time for us to give them as gifts. We received all of our photos (in the CUTEST package in the mail) in less than three weeks after the wedding, which is unheard of! Courtney's photos are beautiful. She has a great eye when it comes to lighting and always had a great idea of how the image will come together. She was not only able to accommodate my needs, but she was also extremely flexible to work with me as her client. During the photo shoot, she was calm - extremely easy to talk to and I felt very comfortable with the poses I did and the ones she suggested. After the shoot, Courtney followed up promptly. She is super easy to work with, crazy patient and more then accommodating to any request. We did all the wedding work our selves. For the reception we were just flaying by the seat of our pants and just going with it. What we didn't know was that we had a pilot. From the time our party bus dropped us off at the reception till the time the last beer and wine slushy was gone Kara had our back and set the course. She made everything run seamlessly. DJed her ass off and made things fun. They say a great dj makes the event and there right. We had nothing but complements about how awesome she was. Some people thought we had a really cool friend that was nice enough to Dj our event. Her communication threw out all the planning was impeccable and flexible. I was asked by my daughter to attend her family's photo shoot here. She wanted to have an extra set…read moreof hands, if needed, for her 2 year-old and newborn. Upon arriving we were welcomed into Kayte's studio: warm, clean, welcoming and secure. Very family friendly. Once we were settled in and had chatted Kayte began demonstrating her expertise. It is obvious that this is an artist skilled at her craft. We may have had our doubts about how well the two little ones were going to be able to "cooperate" but Kayte was not only able to engage the two-year-old's interest and cooperation but she put her years of experience in gently soothing babies into practice with a mildly fussy newborn. Mom was able to sit back and watch the shots being set up from her seat on the sofa, while Dad supervised the older sibling playing with studio provided toys. It's easy to see from the finished works on her website/social media the beauty of her work. It was so interesting to watch the skill that went into making those shots actually happen. Importantly, the process was gentle and respectful of baby, mom and the whole family. I was really impressed and the finished products (digital photos delivered in less than a week!) were gorgeous. So, when "posed" (pun intended) with the task of hiring a photographer for my own wedding, and feeling extremely overwhelmed at the hordes of Chicago photogs and mixed reviews, my mom suggested we ask if Judy would travel and what her travels fees would be like. Well, turns out, Judy does indeed travel, and her fees are not bad at all. Her packages are significantly less than most Chicago photographers, and her travel fees are basically just mileage and hotel. I'm thrilled that we've booked her for our wedding next year -- and I am going to feel very secure knowing that Judy is shooting my wedding. Photographer, check. Now, onto florists and DJs.....
