This place is your above-average corner quick mart. Three-and-a-half stars might be more appropriate. A bit more spacious, a bit more well lit, and a bit cleaner than one would normally expect - this place starts out above par but add the beer and wine license and it definitely pushes it well above convenience store mediocrity. You won't be wowed by anything in here - there is nothing too unusual or exceptional, however it is large enough to offer a bit of a wider selection. No one is very friendly here however service certainly isn't rude or poor, and while you may be able to count on some cross-eyed looks from Keno patrons, it never extends to the point of feeling uncomfortable. And the prices are pretty much fair market. Yes, your Lean Cuisine and Ben & Jerry's may cost you more than they would at Stop & Shop, but not exorbitantly so. And who expects big-box prices from a corner store? All in all, I am happy to have a place where I can leave my kitchen and be contentedly back there with some last-minute cream for coffee, milk for cereal, or wine for dinner all in under ten minutes and twenty bucks. Better still that it's coming from a clean, safe, small neighborhood business.

That being said, he may not be the same with other customers. This store is located in very residential area at the intersection of Fulton Street and Nahatan Street in Norwood. It's has the basics, candy, snacks, frozen goods, and tons of ice cream at the front. The best thing sold here though is milk. Garelick farms is only $2.79! That is unheard of elsewhere! I make the stop to get the Globe on Sundays sometimes, as it is a very convenient stop near my house, especially when Shurfine is closed. There normally isn't too many people inside, and again, the guy working always has seemed friendly and helpful. Perfect, small parking lot right outside, that is never busy either. Perfect spot to get milk, a newspaper, or any other basic need. 4 stars for Dairy Fine.

I love me some Quality Mart…read more I tend to never want beer or Skittles at normal hours, and these guys are open until 11 pm each night. The booze selection is impressive for a little corner store. I also dig the friendliness of the guys behind the counter. They're always happy to chat, even at the strange hours that find me wandering in. I get half my neighborhood gossip here. In a town not known for much love-thy-neighbor-ishness, it's a refreshing change. Five stars for my pals at Quality Mart.

Tons of lotto, if that's your thing, and cheap smokes too. This is by far my favorite business of any kind in Boston. The rest of this is in response to Amanda M.'s ridiculous review: This lady makes it seem like there are bums in front of the store all the time. There are not!!! Way to blow a one time incident waaaay out of proportion Amanda. The "Riff-Raff" loitering in front of the store that she blows a gasket talking about in her one star review happened exactly one time. How do I know? Because I was also there that night. Dum dum DUMMM!! Those kids were in front of the store from about 9:45 to about 11pm ONE TIME ONLY! Yes they were able-bodied brats to be sure, just spangin' for beer money. I didn't hear any of them claim to be homeless at all. Just being punk kids. So our hero Amanda tells them to "get an f--ing job" in her review instead of just saying "no sorry i don't have change." And then she gets surprised when they heckle her. As for calling the store back later and having them mumble something back, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that they didn't care because: A.) it was 5 minutes to close B.) they were busy C.) it was not that big of a deal to anyone but precious miss Amanda. D.) the guys at the store probably already knew that Amanda is a Crazy B-- so they didn't take her too seriously. I've got a guess as to what they mumbled to her on the phone too. I'm guessing, "C U Next Tuesday!" I'm sure Amanda's complaints about the price of chewing gum will be missed, and her $10 of weekly volume just might make the difference for them this summer. But for the rest of you, come on down to the Quality Mart. It's way better now that that hose-beast Amanda is finally gone. For the record, I have never met Amanda, and all of my assumptions about her personality are based on her one crazed review. Sorry to come down so hard, but nobody messes with the Quality Mart. Nobody.
