My husband and I had lunch at this food truck while we were in Almonte and we really enjoyed it…read more My husband had the Cuban Sandwich with fries ($8.50) and I had the Beef Cuban Bowl ($10). Prices are inclusive of taxes. My bowl had romaine lettuce, diced tomatoes, red onions, black beans, shredded cheese, white rice and slices of stir-fried beef. It usually comes with sour cream, but I asked them to omit it. It was a good size for lunch and quite tasty. The meat was lean and tender. My husband's sandwich had roast pork, ham, cheese, pickles and mustard. I only had a tiny bite, but I thought it was good. The cheese was gooey and stretchy. The fries were like chip wagon fries, pretty good. Service was efficient. This place was busy, it seems to be very popular. There are 3 picnic tables set up. Two under umbrellas and one is out in the sun. There is also a port-a-potty set up for The Cuban Mix customers only. The food truck is in a plaza parking lot, same plaza as The Daily Scoop.

I really enjoyed this food truck. The moment I drove up, got out of the car and went up to check…read moreout the menu I was greeted with happy music and the nicest fella working behind the window. He was great at giving suggestions. The hubby ordered the cuban sandwich combo but upgraded the fries to a poutine. I got the fish tacos. The hubby described the cuban sandwich being more like a panini, and it was smaller than expected but packed a lot of flavor. It was topped with roasted pork, ham, pickles, mustard and cheese. The poutine was awesome. The gravy was on point, and there was tons of cheese curds. I wish we ordered a family size poutine, it was REALLY good. The fish tacos were super flavorful and not what I was expecting. They were more like a fish taco wrap. The wrap was packed with grilled fish, sour cream, gauc, tomatoes, and shredded cheese. The tortilla wraps appeared freshly made in house, but I am not sure. Regardless they were chewy and enjoyable. The two tacos were filling and flavorful. I would get them again. This food truck also does cuban bowls (like a dissembled cuban sandwich), quesadillas, fajitas, burgers...literally something for everyone. I also appreciate that they offer a vegetarian burger here. Side note: there is a porta potty on site (washrooms are hard to find these days, so yay) Def recommend checking this food truck out.
