I still do some of our supplemental grocery shopping here: either harder to find items or those that bear a cost saving for us, such as quarts of heavy cream. If the item is the same price as at our local supermarket, the 2% cash back loyalty program win it for our local supermarket. And we still buy some non-grocery items here, rather than automatically ordering from the mega online company that I will not name here. Another change is that I have switched to the Walmart pharmacy for a couple of prescriptions, one for myself and the other for a pet. The service is excellent and the pricing an improv over our previous pharmacy. A supplemental benefit is that if I want to use up rewards money from my health insurance card, the self-service registers accept the card when other stores did not.

During a global pandemic, they have the audacity to post a note that says, "We take the coronavirus virus very seriously." Not one worker or customer in the place was wearing a face mask. From the cashiers, to the shelf stockers, or the deli workers - no one. They didn't even have a plexiglass shield in front of the cashier. If you're going to be capricious during a pandemic, have the class to be honest.

Their selection of vitamins, cleaning products, skincare, herbs, and teas is one of the best in the state for a small, local health store. In the Summer and Autumn, their selection of local produce increases. This year they have done a great job with local organic seedless watermelon and a nice variety of local organic vegetables. The dry goods section is not as expansive as one might find at a big box grocery store, which feels pretty reasonable and is even one of the reasons the store is nice.. it is a genuine, locally-opened small business.. not powering a huge space or warehouse to hold 12 varieties of one packaged item where 1 or 2 types are great. There are still many staple items to choose from. The costs I have compared are not more than the costs of items if they were ordered directly from the producers, they seem fair with prices. They are such a great addition to the area I try to think more of how I can support them instead of focusing on and criticizing minor shortcomings that most small local business face. I look forward to going to Harvest Time and finding interesting healthy things every time.

The people working here are friendly and they carry a fair variety of items. They have a team of butchers and two display cases, so there is quite a focus on meats. The meat prices tend to be a bit higher than the supermarket, though not always, and I assume the quality is higher also. They usually have some marked-down meats I sometimes avail myself of also. They even have frozen chicken hearts, gizzards and livers, the last of which I sometimes buy for myself and our cats (my wife can't stand liver). They have excellent bakery items, store-made take home meals, a fair variety of produce, drinks, snacks - well, you get the idea. They have a loyalty program that, since I do the bulk of my shopping elsewhere, doesn't result in many five-dollar off rewards, but it also gives me access to their weekly coupons. The grocery items are usually a bit higher than the supermarkets, which have an increased volume of sales, but perfectly reasonable , nowhere near convenience store pricing. Plus you are supporting a local business. There are also gas pumps off to the side if you want to get that done while you are there.

The produce department is my favorite. Their lettuce and kale bunches are large, local and priced fairly. A great store for vegans/vegetarians! It is a little tight in there as it's not a large store but it is concentrated and laid out well. The staff is usually always friendly but as with any place, there are occasional exceptions. I'd recommend not shopping in the late afternoon as the traffic in that area gets pretty congested.
