The now have a SIGN to the bathroom. The place is much better organized so you don't have to wander through the store to get to the bathroom. I was a Saturday morning, overcast and rainy so it wasn't very busy. I looked over all the fresh food options and really wanted some fried okra or squash but they don't serve it. I grabbed some chips and hit the road. Oh, Mr Lovitt wasn't working that day so I'll try to catch him next time.

Bathrooms were stocked and clean enough. Store had a decent variety for a convenience store and a whole added area with what looked like mostly farm supplies (like feed for horses, goats, etc.). They were selling hot food (looked mostly like fried chicken) that we didn't get so I can't speak to that, but for a small place it had a steady stream of customers that looked mostly/all local, so that's always a good sign. We got gas, a couple snacks, and used the bathroom. I'd stop here again if I'm the area!

As has been well documented in my Yelp reviews over the past 10-15 years, I'm a fan of QT. I was happy with all the growth QT had along I-85, in the western part of South Carolina, in the early 2010s: https://www.yelp.com/collection/Ey266j_8lAHk7iQLDODC9g Unfortunately, QT isn't there yet with I-95, which is closer to and runs down roughly the eastern part of the state. In SC, I-95 (199 miles) is a lot longer than I-85 (106 miles). Anyway, this QT is a nice start. This QT is located just off I-95 exit 190 (SC 34 - Dillon) in the Pee Dee region of northeastern South Carolina. It's close to the North Carolina border. Another good option for gas, refreshments, and restrooms at this exit is the Love's Travel Stop on the other side of the interstate: https://www.yelp.com/biz/loves-travel-stop-dillon?hrid=UnW3W3KM5C74VC_jGbJGnA&utm_campaign=www_review_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) This QT has everything I like about most newer QT locations. It's big and spacious, inside and out (20 pumps), clean, feels safe, is always stocked with paper towels at the pumps, and has competitive gas prices and polite, friendly customer service. QT describes this location as a "Remote Travel Center," which is the first I've seen since they rolled out the "Generation 3" or "Gen 3" stores over the last decade-plus. To me, this is simply a bigger Gen 3 store on a bigger lot. According to a Convenience Store News article in April 2022 ( https://csnews.com/photo-gallery-inside-quiktrips-new-remote-travel-centers ), QT's Remote Travel Centers have a "larger store format" that "targets geographies with strong truck traffic." This location has five diesel pumps for semi-trailer trucks, but it's not a full-fledged QT truck stop like others I've seen (e.g., Gaffney, SC). Like conventional QTs, this one has a QT Kitchens with fresh, made-to-order food and drink, except it's "expanded." This is QuikTrip store #7133.

That said, I've had a little bad luck lately. On two different work trips within about two weeks, I stopped at two different QuikTrip locations in completely different markets off different interstates, and both were out of the cold coffee on tap. I understand things happen and products or equipment can go down, but twice in a row was disappointing. The second time, I even went a little out of my way coming out of Charlotte on my way back to the beach specifically to stop for coffee. Unfortunately, the entire cold coffee system was down, and every frozen drink machine, including the slushie-style drinks, was down as well. Still, overall I really like QuikTrip stores. They're usually clean, well stocked, and have a great selection. I also appreciate that they carry quite a few keto-friendly snack options. The iced coffee setup is especially good because they offer sugar-free choices and let you control how much sweetener you add. I personally don't add any, but it's great to have those options, especially for people avoiding sugar for dietary or other reasons. Overall, QuikTrip is still one of my favorite places to stop while traveling--I just hope I have better luck with the iced coffee system next time.
