I had seen the Terrace Motel in passing as I am a season pass holder at Dinosaur National Monument. It has always lead me to lose myself in my imagination to imagine it lit up on a sunset night in the 1950's! And even today it always appears iconic and steadfast in this stark environment. I was so excited about my trip and nerding out for an entire week with paleontology. Today my booking was canceled. When I made my arrangements I failed to mention I travel with my two small dogs. And some establishments don't accept pets. They have their rights to their policy and a good customer would accept and respect the rules of the establishment. It would be unfair to make an exception to my fellow customers and being dishonest and trying to hide my fur babies is just NOT my style. The owner is such an endearing woman. She has a kind demeanor and is an inspiration to me because she is a female owner! The grace with which she handles potentially uncomfortable situations is so smooth. In the end she gave me a full refund (even though I was culpable) and welcomed me back again when I come to Dinosaur minus the fur babies. I plan on returning because of the amazing impression I had with the way they handle undesirable situations. It must be glorious when all is well. Also the standard of cleanliness is principally important to these people. And they really care about the health and well-being of ALL. Thank you kindly.

The booking agent was very nice and helpful. This is a no frills hotel. The sheets are clean, but there is a lot of dust coming out of the air conditioner. If you have any respiratory issues this would be a problem. If you get caught out here without reservations it not too bad. Book ahead of time! There are some nice places in Ventura. I would give it one star but the office staff were helpful.

I booked this based on price and location, plus their free breakfast…read more We arrived on a Monday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. and were able to check in. The property is located in the heart of the Vernal business district, within an easy walk of any businesses in the area. We walked to dinner each night. The layout appears to be the combination of 2 distinct original motels, now combined. This includes an Italian restaurant (reviewed separately). The rooms associated with both of the original motels surround a pool. Rooms are direct access to the parking lot (i.e., no 'central hallway'), which was fine for us. Check-in was easy. They also provide a couple of computers for guest access. This was useful on our last night for printing our boarding passes. In addition, they allow access to their dining room so that you can refill water bottles throughout the day, a service which we took full advantage of. Rooms in back of the pool are slightly trickier to park, but otherwise there was no issue. Our room was spacious in terms of where you can lay out a suitcase. There was also plenty of room on the bathroom counter for all 3 of us. This was in stark contrast to some places we've stayed in the last year (I'm looking at you, Amsterdam!). The only slight drawback to the room was the beds. I don't know that this was quite 'queen size', so 2 of us together both felt a bit cramped. It wasn't a big deal, though. Breakfast on the mornings we stayed here was from 6:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. The 'rush' seemed to be at 6:30 a.m., as those with river rafting reservations got there early. The process was a bit unique - you queued up and placed an order for most of your food (eggs, bacon, cereal, bread, etc.). Once you got that, you proceeded into the dining room to eat (and to toast your bread, etc.). Coffee and juice was self-serve. I didn't object to this, as I got basically the same food that I'd have had at Hampton Inn, etc. I assume they'd had some issues with food waste, and this was their solution. The food itself was pretty standard. Overall, this is a fairly basic motel that should meet most peoples' needs. I'd consider staying here again if I returned to Vernal.

Previous stays were rated 5 stars, ea. visit, but NOW had to give at least 1 star to post my experience now under new mgmt. A remnant of days gone by. A hanger-on, with a firm grip on the past. They still use pen to paper registration slips, and you'll get a smile from the owner as you're filling it out. You, too, will smile when you see how reasonable the room rates are. My charge for the night was a mere $74 and change. Almost unheard of in these inflated times. My room was small and comfortable. I, being the only occupant, found it to be perfect for my needs. Stunningly clean and well-appointed. Your host, if asked, will steer you in the right direction for a delicious meal. And if that direction is toward the Mexican House restaurant, you're in for a real treat. Outstanding!! But you'll have to find out just how outstanding it is by reading my YELP for that establishment. Give White River your business. You will be helping preserve the past while providing memories for the future. Quick Tip: Having been built back in a time when people were more considerate, you may find that the walls are a might bit thin. These days, an unrestrained couple next door has the potential of keeping you entertained during the night, early morning, late morning, and if your stay includes it, early afternoon! Beds super comfortable, I was at St Regis Deer Valley not long ago and the beds at Quality Inn are far more comfortable to sleep in. Quality Inn has indoor pool and hot tub. Everything is dated and in need of remodeling, especially the hot tub. Hot tub is in need of resurfacing so it feels prickly sitting in the hot tub. Other than that this is very good stop for an overnight stay during your road trip. Grab some snacks, sit in the hot tub, watch some TV, then have a good nights sleep. Meets expectations for price we paid, would recommend and stay here again.
