I needed to have the windshield to my Lexus replaced since there was a large crack that grew out of a smaller ding. I found Budget Auto Glass on yelp and contacted them and many other companies for a quote. John was the first to reply out of all companies and also reasonably priced with the ability to offer a mobile service to come to my home and replace the windshield and do it within a day of contacting them. Update: Having had the new windshield for almost half a year, I have to say I've become a little disappointed with the quality of the install. There's a rattling that comes from the top of the driver's side of the windshield now that didn't exist previously. At first I thought it was the cord from my dashcam rattling around, but after removing the cord, I've come to realize it's from the top of the windshield hitting something and the glass wasn't installed perfectly. I've taken it into the snow a lot and the seal is good, but the quality of the install is definitely below the one I got from the dealer and the rattling is super annoying on the freeway. read more

This a little overdue from my last incident- In October I parked in San Francisco near Mason and Bay Street - kitty corner to the Starbucks, behind several nice cars and in front of a fancy car on a Saturday evening. I have parked there before with no incident. Well times are definitely a changin' in SF for the worst. No Area is safe to park anymore. After 1.5 hours I came out and my back window (yes the big expensive one) was smashed - and nothing was taken because there was nothing in there, and nothing visible. I'm not sure why my random Subaru Forester was targeted and not other nice cars but it always twists my heart in knots to see this. I took my ice scraper/snow brush from the back (My Canadian roots) and knocked out the rest of the glass so I could drive home to the peninsula without dumping glass all over the highway - pretty chilly but I guess it's better than if it was February. At home I had a plastic sheet from a previous crash wrap of this truck's back window in 2014, before the side window smashings in between but those are other stories for another time. Once home and after sleeping I found Budget Auto glass in San Carlos online and called. They came out to my apt and fixed the window within an hour at a very reasonable price. I was very relieved. From 2001-2017 I've had my corolla and now the forester having to get get windows fixed over the years at least 6-7 times parking anywhere from Gilroy to San Francisco (and some in driveways in San Jose). San Francisco is still the worst I believe and I no longer park on the street there EVER ANYWHERE. I park in garages or at bart and take the train in. I don't leave anything visible but with the soft cover of my subaru I have to leave it open and the truck empty or it WILL get broken into to see if anything is under the soft cover...so dumb. As long as SF (and certain other parts of the Bay Area following suit) continues to be this ridiculous then it's good to know about honest car window repair shops that help fix your vehicle quick and professionally at a reasonable cost. read more

Had a major crack on front windshield. Started searching at 9am..After going through a few different companies, my wife found Budget Auto Glass online and the process was so easy. The estimate we received was extremely fair. Within the hour, JOHN contacted me by text message to reassure me that schedule was being worked on and someone would be getting back to me shortly. A truck made a small star on the windshield. i left it for a few days and a 9" crack appeared. IMPORTANT: if you get it fixed immediately, the windshield can likely be repaired instead of having to be replaced! [I waited too long. ;) ] I called John last night.
