There were no working ice machines on the grounds (yes there are machines but there was no ice in said machines available to the guests), which isn't favorable. The front desk said it had been busy, which again I get, but you need to keep up with the demand. The workout room wasn't anything, and the indoor pool wasn't desirable. The room was your standard room. The others in our group had a much nicer room so I hope that the rest of the resort is trying to look the same. Please out window sheers behind the curtains so those who are in the rooms can open the curtains and not expose everything since it's all right there. The Encore pool was nice. For those who don't drink, being told you can't bring water into the pool isn't a good idea. When the pool is being used for the parties, yes I'd understand more but this was during the day. The security guard wouldn't stop staring either. I'm pretty sure we will be there again in a few months for the next conference so I hope updates are being made. Yes I wrote this a few months later as I'm getting caught up on reviews and yes I hope it's much better when and if the company picks here again for their conference.

The older lady was rude and continued to state I booked 2. Another young lady came over and stated it was an on line glitch and cancelled the second room but the Manager Mel would only refund me half of the room fee for a second room I never booked. Now I have to dispute the charge. Don't book on line. The room stunk, the door doesn't seal when fully shut. You can hear everyone around you because it's poorly insulated and just a dirty property. I would never stay again, very disappointing for the 1st time at Lake of the Ozarks.

Had dinner at HK's one night - dinner was fine, but it was clear the property is in disrepair; the window we sat next to had a big crack in it, and we could see outside that the wood over the walkway was rotting out and the landscaping needed a good weeding and cleanup. You can tell it is family owned and they take pride in it. The Knolls is situated on a hillside giving the individual condo units beautiful lake views. There is even main channel lake views from the tennis and basketball courts. Individual Condo Units can be rented through the property owners directly, VBRO, Home Away, or through the Knolls main office. I highly recommend contacting property owners (like Alison N.) directly or using Home Away or VBRO. I have stayed at the Knolls many times and each time I enjoy myself more and more. Beds are full size cots, which are uncomfortable but is in line with the camping experience. Went on the 6 mile float trip, our first time doing a canoe & taking our dog. Very relaxing river, only had 1 dicey moment with some tree branches. Saw bald eagle nests, & a bald eagle fishing in the river right in front of us. Met great people on our trip, great convos. We had lunch on a rocky beach. The beavers running around the property were funny to watch. Had a great time, very relaxing. Highly recommend, would come back.

The hotel sent up maintenance with a can of something and he sprayed the door. After he left the wasp came back. They moved us to another room. This balcony also had a wasp. The walls of the room are shockingly thin. There are a lot of children at tbe hotel and next door to us was a little boy, maybe 5, with his parents. They were very loud. We heard sounds, screams we should never hear in a $350+ room. Also there's problems with the air conditioning. It turns on or off and u can keep it at 67 degrees for the air or it switches to heat! The TV doesn't change channels and the volume is preset.

Coming from a college town where tons of protocols are done, a couple things rubbed me the wrong way. But ultimately, I felt safe. If you have kiddos who love outdoor swimming pools, this is the resort to stay at! My four year old has a phobia of not seeing his feet in the lake water. He will choose the 'blue water' over the 'brown water' any day of the week. This pool boasts a lake view. You also have the pool to yourself almost all day everyday since a majority of the folks that stay here go out on the lake each day. Talk about a great socially distanced week full of swimming and family! This was our third stay at this resort. The staff is friendly. The property is well maintained. The location is convenient and near a lot of great spots. There's internet in each unit. There's a lot to enjoy at Lakewood Resort.
