My wife's Chihuahuas would have frozen to death if the house reached ambient temperature. We were about to fly home from Mexico when Prestige found temporary boarding and carried the dogs over and then back once the power restored. Saved our vacation. The staff was friendly and the facility was impressive--lots of room for the dogs to run and play. They even have a pool, which Macho didn't go in, but I bet he wanted to. They sent Macho home with a report card outlining his day--what he did, who he played with, when he ate and went to the bathroom. Now, 24 hours later, he is still sleeping which means he had a LOT of fun. It takes a lot to wear him out. Next time we return to Blacksburg I will definitely drop Macho off for the day.

When we pull onto their road, he becomes very excited because he loves being there. My dog gets to spend a lot of time outside, playing in a large grass-covered yard. There's even a small spring-fed pool for swimming. He also spends time in a building where the dogs have the option of lounging on several futons. The bunkhouse has rooms for each dog. The rooms contain a twin bed, a window, and a ceiling fan; heating & A/C were just added. The owners are friendly and clearly love the dogs. Expect your dog to come home tired and a bit dirty! (The needs of elderly dogs that want to rest are also seen to). We love that he comes home a little dirty - it represents play and exercise!
