Since Saturday and Sunday probably are their biggest shopping days of the week you would think they would care to give Sunday shoppers a good experience at least equal to Saturday shoppers. You pay to get treated like a criminal at Costco. They scan your id on the way in and compare your cart to your receipt on the way out like we are all recovering thieves. Inventory and offerings are inconsistent and unreliable. Try not to grow to like anything too much because odds are it will be gone for weeks or months before you see it again or they will just stop carrying it altogether. Also be prepared to have pushy sales people accost you throughout the store. It seems Costco rents floor space and takes a cut of proceeds every week from different carnival barkers selling some new gadget, cheap jewelry, car remotes, or mobile phone services. They used to have good meats at good prices but it seems good meat deals are harder to find. Clothing offerings are pretty mediocre. They definitely could offer some nicer clothes than they do. They push more and more shelf space away from name brands towards Costco Kirkland brand. They do have decent gas for good prices and good deals on tires and installation. They sell batteries at good prices but don't install them which is something they should offer.

So I pull around to go back to the storefront to get a refund for the car wash. The guy comes out of the store and says is the car wash not working? I said I don't know whether it's working or not. You've got cones in front of it so you can't get at it. I assume it's not working. The guy tells me no refund save the receipt that it is good for a year. I said I live in Chicago I just happened to be up in this area so I need a refund. The guy keeps telling me to come back and get the car wash. I said I don't live near here. I'm confident the plan is asked the customer to leave and hope they lose the receipt so they get $11 for nothing. Then I go inside and he gives me nine dollars for an eleven dollar car wash. He said that's all you get because you got the discount on the gas. I said that wasn't my fault. I was willing to buy the gas and a car wash. But for some reason it's not working and you had no idea. But you're still selling the car washes. I had to tell him I was going to dial 911 and tell the police to handle it. Finally he gave me the $2 back. BTW I would have never bothered the place with something like this. Waste of money and time. Go to We Wash across the street or anywhere but here.

There is a huge difference in the price of a gallon of gas @ Costco Gas in Chicago (Crook County) vs Niles, IL (Cook County) vs Lake County. I have seen gas as high as $399.9/gallon on the south side near Midway Airport. Costco Gas tends to be anywhere from $.20 - $.30/gallon less then most gas stations. I refill my car either every day or every other day so I tend to watch the prices to try and save when I can. Look at the difference between 3 recent fill ups 08/07/19 - $297.9/gallon - Costco Gas Chicago (Crook County) 08/08/19 - $281.9/gallon - Costco Gas Niles (Cook Count 08/10/19 - $267.9/gallon - Shell Gas (Lake County). I will always fill up or top off at this Shell Gas Station when I am in the area.

I've lost $10 on car washes multiple times, including again this evening. The car wash worked for less than a minute before displaying a message that it was complete. When I informed the attendant about the issue, he rudely told me that nothing could be done and suggested I return tomorrow. I understand that things can go wrong and machines can malfunction, but it's all about the behavior and customer service. Instead of being rude, the attendant could have handled the situation respectfully. When I asked him to mark the receipt indicating the car wash didn't work, he became aggressive and told me to leave.

As such, unless you drive a lifted or big tire vehicle, you will scrap your wheels on the curb. You can see that the curb is covered in black marks from all of the cars that crashed into it.
