My client and I were blatantly ignored by the sales staff and I had to flag down a sales associate to help us. The woman who waited on us was an older woman who clearly didn't want us there. She brought out shoes for my client to try on, but his feet were too small for the smallest men's shoes, so I asked if they had anything similar in boy's sizes. The sales lady told us that Yaeger's doesn't carry boy's shoes. (That's another beef I have with Yaeger's - what kind of shoe store carries men's, women's and girl's shoes, but nothing for boys? That doesn't make sense, but I digress.) So anyway, she kept discouraging us from buying shoes at their store, and kept telling us to go elsewhere for shoes. My client really wanted a certain shoe he tried on, but again the sales lady was very discouraging, saying that his size would have to be ordered, and she really made a point of making it sound like it would be a hassle to special order his shoes. And again, she continued to encourage us to take our business elsewhere. I asked her to please special order my client's size in the shoes he wanted, and she begrudgingly took down my name and number and said that she'd order his shoes later, and that she'd call me when his shoes were in. Weeks went by, and I didn't hear from Yaeger's at all. When I called the store to inquire about my client's shoes, there was no record of the order I requested and nobody had my contact information. I don't wish to drag Yaeger's through the dirt just because of one bad employee. But I felt that the woman who waited on us was discriminating against my client just because he is elderly and has special needs. I have had positive experiences with Yaeger's in the past, but this time I was very disappointed.
