I love stopping by a thrift store any time I'm visiting a new city. Out of the Closet is a pretty…read morebig one in downtown Columbus. They have a selection of men's, women's clothing, furniture, shoes, CDs, artwork and books. This thrift store is extraordinary in what they do! 96% of each dollar goes towards aiding in HIV care and supporting those suffering with it. They offer free on site HIV testing. There were around 10 young men waiting to get tested. I really liked some of the furniture pieces and artwork in this store, unfortunately it was too big to bring back on my flight home with me. My friend purchased around 12 CDs at $2 each. I would love some of them too, but I haven't had anything to play CDs on in so long. Out of the Closet is a thrift store that supports a wonderful cause. Stop by when you're in the area!

They really support the community and it's a beautiful thing to see. Secondly, the prices are reasonable. Some things might be marked up a bit more than you would expect but if you look closely, those items tend to be of high quality.. Like name brand items. Third, they keep the place really clean and organized. As with all thrift stores, you really need to dig around... but at least you know where to start depending on what you're looking for. Lastly, there's a free parking lot out back, which we all know is hard to find in the Short North. If you're someone that enjoys thrifting, add this spot to your list of places to check out.

Don't even wanna know who owns the place. They don't take care of the Homeless community. I am a witness. I was homeless for a year! Selection is WAY TOO MUCH! I would leave half that crap outside so the homeless can just take whatever they want. I would probably go ahead and get rid of the building. There are beautiful train tracks right behind it that need to be seen! Plus I think Canadian Geese or some sort of birds want to live in that parking lot. The value??? I wouldn't even touch ONE item in that store (except I did see an overpriced Bath & Body Works candle I would never spend that much money on a candle. I mean I have before when I was in love. But never again! Ohio is NUTZ! no wonder it's called the Buckeye State!

These folks are really friendly and if you ask for help, they're right there for you. The store is well laid out, bright and clean. I almost always find something here. The selection is great and they are always bringing out new items. Prices are just fine, 25%, 50%, 75% off.....can't beat it. *** If you have mobility problems are are looking for kids or men's items, beware. The store used to be a Montgomery Ward or JC Penney back in the 50's. There are two floors and you have to use the stairs to get up there.

I'm a huge fan of '70s fashion and absolutely fell in love with a pair of high-waisted, straight-leg denim jeans. Sadly, they were a bit too tight in the waist, even though the fit everywhere else was perfect. While I'm not overly fond of the pricing, I do understand it--because for the perfect, high-quality pair of vintage jeans, I'd absolutely pay the price. I didn't leave empty-handed though; I walked out with a super cool pair of sunnies that I'm obsessed with. Huge thanks to my lovely sweetheart for finding this gem of a store! I'm already looking forward to another visit and potentially checking out their Cleveland location as well.

This store specializes in vintage finds. they have furniture, glassware, jewelry, clothing, vinyl records, and a lot of other really cool pieces. You could spend a few hours in here, looking at everything they had. Their vintage clothing selection is quite extensive, although we both felt that the pieces were a bit overpriced. It was definitely a fun way to spend a few hours, but again we didn't spend any money because the clothing was so pricey. If you're looking for some unique vintage items this is definitely the place to look

I came on a weekday in the afternoon and was surprised to see the parking lot completely full so it took me a minute to find a spot. That said, when I walked through the doors the fun quickly began. The first thing I noticed was how big and organized the place is. Gone are the days of barely being able to sort through clothing because the aisles are packed too tight and there's too many items on the rack. Everything here is easy peasy. From the furniture and shoes to the homegoods and knick knacks everything had its place. While the prices were a little high compared to places like Goodwill, I wasn't mad about it because Volunteers of America has a great cause and the money raised truly goes back into the community. Supporting veteran services and mental health and recovery are just a few examples that I can really get behind. I ended up spending roughly $25 and walked away with a $200 pair of jeans, a nice pair of boots, glass bottles I've been meaning to buy but luckily found them here, as well as some nice glass decor that matches my living room perfectly. I will absolutely be back and can't wait to see what treasures I may find. See you soon!
