In my hometown, Bubbles is the name of a rather shady "Gentleman's Spa". In Hove, it's the name of a laundrette. Though not as exciting as pubs, clubs and restaurants, laundrettes are a common sight in Brighton and Hove. This is due to the large number of flat conversions, which are often without plumbing for washing machines. Alas, a laundrette is a necessity. Bubbles is nothing unique in terms of price (£4.20 per machine cycle - around £1-2 for drying) but it does benefit from a constant attendant on site, which means you can ask for assistance when needed and also feel comfortable leaving your clothes in the machine if you need to pop next door to the shop. Bubbles also offers service washes and has decent opening hours, which means you can feel safe in the knowledge that there'll always be time to keep your clothes smelling fine. read more
