Most launderettes in the area do work to a high standard but I did have a good laugh with the employees and built up a good rappor immediately. It sounds silly but if you get a good experience in these sorts of places you are much more likely just to pop in again even if it isn't overly urgent. I…read moreregularly spend a fortune in your tires and broken down laundrette, a) because it's the closest and I can't carry all my washing to another further one, and b) even if I did it's the same owner so similar issues. Machines are either regularly or seemingly permanently broken. Those that do work seem to be doing so in an underpowered way. 20 minutes on high for 2 towels leaving them pretty damp and needing another 10-15 minutes is crazy. These machines used to be a lot more efficient, so stop being tight and get them serviced or replaced.

The machines all work there's a little, all be it not very comfortable, bench to sit on and read and they have even acquired the works of a Paul Sample-Esque local artist depicting intricate scenes of local places that can hold one's attention for some time. This laundrette is also staffed which can make life easier if you've made the blunder of turning up without change. But don't expect much in the way of service or polite conversation as the staff are understandably bored and fed up looking, probably a side effect of the fact that they seem to have none stop Jeremy Kyle on in there all day.

Laundry Bags can also be purchased here, ranging in price from 50p for a small, £1.20 for a medium sized bag, and £2 for a large complete with zip. It should also be noted that, although this store remains open till 7pm weekdays, the last wash is actually at 5.45pm.

We did a months worth service wash for £15.90 and with a wash and dry costing around 2 quid in electricity plus the powder plus the machine costs, for the sheer bulk you can get done, I think its worth it. Also, I like the fact that its all done in one big go, none of this unloading and loading again. If I did have a big family, I can't imagine anything more convenient than doing one giant wash off. And if you live alone, just go once a month, means you will have to get lots more clothes to last you, which is always a good thing.
