I will also say I think they did a fun great job with my pup. Most places wanna charge you over $100 luckily this place was under 100 and it included the wash as well as a nail trim and she didn't look horrible after . I am glad they were able to take me in the lady at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. I will definitely be going back here for Haircut for my pup.

I'm new to the area so I was a little shocked about 95$ for a 12lb dog, I'm used to paying 50$. For 95$ I expect pristine work, this just isn't up to par.

Cathy generously offered for me to bring her in just to spend time in the space with her, her husband, and their dogs, purely to help her feel more comfortable. The moment we arrived, I could tell this place was special. The space is beautiful and clearly designed with dogs in mind, and Cathy herself is just lovely. Almost immediately, my nervous pup, who usually barks at everyone, was calmly approaching her, sniffing her hand, and even taking treats without making a sound. I was honestly amazed. I left feeling completely at ease, knowing both of my dogs were in the best possible hands. Cathy kept me updated throughout the entire visit, not only about my black lab's groom, but also about my other pup who wasn't even there for a groom. She simply took the time to help her build comfort and trust for future visits, which is something you just don't see often. Wonderful experience and top notch grooming and cut for my fiesty, one year old labradoodle! The space is clean, roomy and welcoming for dogs and their owners. My dog was there for a little over an hour from start to finish. The owner Katie and her assistant were extremely professional, knowledgeable and experienced and gave me complete confidence that they could handle my puppy's first full grooming experience including a bath, blow-out, nail clipping and cut! From my initial phone call to the pick-up, communication was easy and I was able to get an appointment in a couple of days. The styling and amount of hair they cut off was spot on. They followed my requests perfectly. My puppy went in an overgrown mess with burs stuck in his fur and came out looking like a show dog with a beautiful bow around his neck! I will definitely be returning! It's worth every penny!!! read more

After foxtail surgery I knew our 1 yo schnoodle Ziggy, with the Velcro hair, needed a summer hard buzz cut. It would be his first professional visit. We were prepared to lose his scragalicious look but were thrilled to see his sleek soft body haircut, while maintaining an adorable face and tail. And he smelled fresh clean not perfumey. Our experience was great, fast return call, got an appt quickly, Ziggy finished quickly, reasonable price, and friendly service. I would not take my dog anywhere else! Katy has been grooming my mini yorkie for over 3yrs now and I'm happy after every visit. I like my little one to have a specific haircut that past groomers would give me something different each time. Not Katy! Ellie Mae looks perfect each time and if I am being picky, she will make any adjustments I ask after the fact. Katy is kind and gentle with my dog, which is great, because she has severe separation anxiety. read more

Just picked up my Parson Russell terrier and my Yorkie and the staff did an amazing job on them. The Parson was hand striped and looks like he's back to being show ready. The Yorkie looks amazing as well. They always do a great job with our fur babies. read more

She is now 7 years old and hates having her paws handled. Stephanie and her partner did a great job with our Rosie. I was very impressed with their caring, their knowledge and gentleness, taking time for her needs. No sign of stress or fear or pain. I normally do not leave negative reviews, but this experience left me genuinely disappointed…read more We brought our puppy to The Dog and Hydrant for three grooming visits total. During the very first visit at only around 3 months old, they mentioned he was somewhat difficult around the face/head area and were unable to fully complete the trim. Fair enough -- he was a very young puppy experiencing grooming for the first time. What makes this situation frustrating is that his second visit went completely fine. They successfully completed his undercarriage, face, and head trim with no issue reported at all. On this third visit, we were told he was "wiggly" and somewhat mouthy specifically around face trimming. We were also informed he chewed on a few nearby things, including the groomer's hair. While I absolutely understand puppies can be energetic and require patience during grooming, this is still a young dog in the acclimation stage -- not an aggressive adult dog with a history of dangerous behavior. More concerning was that his nose was nicked during the appointment, and immediately afterward we were told prescription sedation would now be mandatory for any future grooming visits. That recommendation felt excessive and honestly alarming considering the circumstances. Suggesting sedation for a puppy because he was wiggly during face grooming raises serious concerns for me about patience, handling expectations, and experience working with young dogs still learning the process. To be clear, the cut is passable and the front desk staff was polite and professional. My issue is more with the overall handling philosophy and escalation to mandatory sedation after what sounds like fairly typical puppy behavior. We will unfortunately be taking our business elsewhere.
