All the bubbles at the green station! Keep in mind, this was taken when the event ended and there was residual bubbles from the stations.

My coworker had wanted to get a group together to do one of these fun 5ks, and as it was my weekend off, AND there was a "free registration (actually came out to $12.09 for the T-shirt, registration, bib, temporary tattoos)", of course I was in! I waited 45 minutes in line at 1 pm the day before the race for packet pickup. And it was a weekday! Crazy. The line went smoothly and I was able to pick up mine/my coworkers' packets without any qualms. On race day, as the race was held at Dillingham Ranch this year, we waited 1.5 hours in traffic to park, parked 1 mile away (because this occasional tightwad did not want to pay $20 for parking), and unexpectedly walked ANOTHER mile to the start line. Shuttle buses were an option from the official parking to the start line but they were few and far in between, as none had passed by me by the time we had finished walking to the start line. Port-a-potties were abundant, so that was good. Now to the bubble run itself- it was more like a walk void of much bubbles LOL. I mean, I knew to expect that speed, but I didn't expect how little bubbles there actually were. There were only about 5 stops (start line, pink, blue, green, yellow) along the route spewing out bubbles (kind of like a car wash) and the course was muddy from rain the day before. Combine the two and it's not a "clean run." Not to say that we didn't have fun and made the most of what bubbles there were! But overall, I'm too bubbled out to do this again. It was great to try- onto the next fun run!

I've been to two Bubble Run events. Both were amazingly fun. It's more of a fast brisk walk because of the amount of people and the Bubble pod areas a super wet and crowded. Word to the wise walk slowly through the bubbles it's thick you can't really see through it plus watch out for strollers and little children. It's a fun event and the kids enjoy it too. Don't attempt to jump or run in the Bubble stations you are highly likely to hurt some one. It's a 5k run so be prepared for the 3.162 mikes of fun! At the end of the race there is a bubble party where they shot rays and rays of bubbles. It feels like it's snowing literally as the bubbles come flying down. If you don't mind the colors being all over you than this is for you. Bring a towel to cover your car seats and slippers if you want to change shoes cause by the end of the event it will be soggy. It's a fun clean run with lots of bubbles. Get your Bubble on with the Bubble Run.

Tons of good clean fun!! Same course as color run but not the same caliber. Color run by far is better! Some of the bubble machines didn't work and we were at the 8am race. Felt sorry for the 9AM racers. Over all fun for the lil guy. Bring slippers for after the race. Bubbles make your shoes soggy and swamp foot! Keep your belongings in waterproof or ziplock bags. As you can see from the stroller EVERYTHING gets wet!!! After race party was fun with bubbles everywhere from bubble machines.

This run is more fun for my kids than it is for me. That's the reason it gets two stars, because I'd give it less. First of all, let's talk about the location. The area they chose is full of trash. It used to be Barbers Point Naval Air Station. It's now owned by the state and it went to hell. It's obvious that people use it as a dumping area with the amount of trash everywhere. The area is being cleared so there is a lot of fallen trees and other debris resulting from a clearing. Second is the parking. It totally sucked. There was none. Third, there wasn't a lot of bubbles. Bubbles are the main reason my kids wanted to go. Runners run a little less than a mile or so and they get to bubble stations they have to run through. Well, the course isn't long...maybe 2 miles. So there were only three stations(blue, pink, and green). Pink barely had bubbles coming out and green was reduced to a pathetic amount of bubbles. There was so little bubbles that the kids (not mine) were getting their shirts stained with green dye by dipping their hand in the mini swimming pool filled with green dye. These swimming pools are supposed to be source of the bubbles, but one bubble machine was off while the other looked like it was tired. The guy managing the station didn't seem to care.

Everyone doesn't start at the same time. It's a rolling race. They allowed a certain amount of people go about every 5 minutes.

THE THINGS YOU DO FOR LOVE When you love your wife you will half-heartedly say yes when she asks you to participate to PAY to run 3 miles. Not only pay to run a race but wake up early on the day you should be sleeping in. When you love you wife you will agree to pick up the packets. Then wait, then wait, then WAIT. In that hour you will think about if you should bail. Bail in waking up early, bail in walking 3 miles, bail in baking in the hot sun. You think about calling your wife and asking her why she didn't stand in this line? The day finally comes. You wake up because you love your wife. You help dress your kids with a half heart smile. You drag your feet to the door. You drive to Barbers point only to WAIT, yet again. You drive and drive to look for parking. Pay more for parking or walk more? Finally, you make it with your family and so you thought. You wait, then wait, and wait. Wait to get to the starting line. When you actually make it to the starting line you see the faces of utter excitement in your children. You see the love in your wife's eyes. You walk a few steps and your youngest who distains walking as much as you do. He grabs at your hand with a smile on his face. He begins to walk briskly in excitement as he goes through the first bog of bubbles. You see your wife with your middle son and eldest as they throw bubbles in the air. You begin to take pictures to capture these memories. Your halfhearted smile begins to grow into a genuine smile. You begin to soften and play with your children. You enjoy the moment. When your kids are young, still look up to you, and still want to spend time with you. You kiss your wife in the bubbles and enjoy every moment of it. When your wife loves you she will force you to do things you think you don't want to do. Listen to her because she loves you. She knows what's best for you. The money I paid will go to feed children who are homeless. Waking up early to run a race with my family got me memories that we can always return to. It encouraged my youngest son to get out and move. It got my oldest son who is now a teen to hang out with his parents. It got my middle son to let loose. When your wife loves you and you love your wife you will make compromises because it will benefit the both of you. Bubble Run Hawaii This year the Bubble Run took place at Kalaeloa on January 17. Packet pick up was the day before the race and the line to pick up took an hour long. I have participated in several different walks/runs over the years and this is the longest I ever had to wait. If you were unable to pick it up on that day you could pick it up on race day for $5 extra for every race packet. There were 2 heats. I participated in the second heat at 9 a.m. We planned to arrive an hour before our scheduled time. It took time to find parking. Paid parking was available near the event for $8. There is only one area to use the portapotties, at the beginning of the race and at the end of the race. Water is offered at the middle of the race and at the end of the race. There were 5 different stations were bubbles flowed from machines. It was in different colors white, pink, green, yellow and blue. At the end I guess there was supposed to be an after party. I'm not sure if it's because we were a part of the second wave, or if the cannons that shoot out bubbles was broken, but everything was practically shut down. All in all, when my wife asks to participate in this race next year, I will have to reread my review to remind me of the time we are investing into each other, our children and our community.

Lots of fun for all ages!! Pack the stroller and the kids, even the dog. This event is for everyone. You can walk or run the 5k. Don't where anything that you wound mind getting ruined. The dye didn't come out of some things. You get a shirt to weAr for event. I would suggest you get in on the pre-sale for $20 because then it doubles. I would Also suggest to get your packet on the schedule day before the event.

Pretty awesome event. Registration was free, parking wasn't... balanced out. This year it wasn't in Kapolei, but up in north shore area. The view on The running path was OK at best however the real fun is in the bubbles and that is only improved the further in the run you get. My daughter absolutely went crazy over the bubble cannon and she didn't complain much over the 3 miles we had to run. I would advise if you're going to bring your little ones with you that you also bring along a snack or water for them during the walk jog. Either way it was a blast and I would totally do it again

Bubble Run is a family-friendly 5K held in Kapolei, even though their event name is "Bubble Run Honolulu." Despite being advertised as a free event, there is a $10 event insurance fee as well as a mandatory donation of $1 to a charity. For the price of $11, this event gives you a shirt, headband, runner's bib, and a temporary tattoo. If you're parking at the event site, it costs $10, but if you're looking for free parking, there is a shopping center nearby--be careful though as you may be at risk of getting your car towed. This year, the event was attended by more than 16,000 runners as claimed by the emcee of the event. This is my second time attending, and I was glad to see they are a lot more organized this time around. There is a 60-90 second break in between each wave to ensure each runner is safe and there is enough space for people who want to run or walk. We got there around 8:15 am for the 8am slot and we did not get to start the run until around 8:50am. If walked, the course should take about 30-45 minutes. But, make sure to take photo breaks at the foam stations. During the run, there are 3 bubble stops: one for red, then blue, then lastly, green. Each stop represents each mile of the 5K. There is no check-in to the event; just a packet pick-up a few days before the event at UFC Gym Waikele which holds all the items you're supposed to receive. There are so many people attending that doing a check-in on the day of would be a nightmare. However, there is a $5 fee if you want to get it on the day of the event. They also sell merchandise, which I personally think are overpriced. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the event even though the organizers used misinformation in order to get runners to sign up.

Let it snow bubble foam style !!!

The event itself is cool but organisation is poor.I recommend it anyway. They should work better on the registration process.

Before this year, I quickly dismissed any invitations to running events. And when I say quickly, I…read moremean I wouldn't even consider it. But now that my daughter is 8, I like to look for active and fun events we can do together. The Color Run caught my interest because it was a fun run and not timed so we could take our time walking. She had been exposed to a mini-Color Run at her Summer Fun program so she was excited about it. On race day, we found parking easily near the event out in Kapolei. The race was well organized and they sent participants in waves with runners on the left and walkers on the right to avoid being overcrowded. The course is marked with 4 color stations (blue, pink, orange and yellow) with a water station before the last color. But if you have kids in your group, definitely bring your own water. We learned our 8 year old girls got very whiny when hot. The girls immediately perked up when running through the color stations where volunteers would motivate you with high fives and douse you with color powder. At the finish line, they passed out packets of color powder and our shiny medals. The girls had the best time at the end of the event throwing powder EVERYWHERE. This was probably the least exciting part for me as I learned at the orange station that there is such a thing as throwing too much color. Totally worth it though! Especially when my daughter thanked me for taking her because she had so much fun.

Yelp 365 Challenge x 2 #248/365…read more FUN RUN! How can you give it any less especially when it's all about family, friends, co-workers, or individuals running around being doused with different colors? I love the fact that they did some adjustments to the run from last year. Last year, there were no wave starts. This year there were different starting times. At first, I thought there wouldn't be that much runners considering there was the Run or Dye in September but there were quite a lot of people that showed up. Last year, I ran on my own but this year-my kids and sisters joined in on the fun. Unfortunately for my nephew, he refused to run thinking it was "uncool" but my sister showed him the videos that she took prior, during and after the run with his cousins having fun (sucks to be him). The Color Run also teamed up again with Ocean Lotus, which is a great cause. The course was the same as last year! As for me and my family? We were happy unicorns and have already made plans to do this again next year. Few tips: 1) This is a fun run-so there IS NO TIMING. If you are in for timing, sign up for other races that aren't fun runs 2) Have a fun attitude! 3) Get your family and friends to all go as a team! It's fun and way better than running on your own!

I bought my tickets back in January. Here's why I'm convinced this is a scam: * Zero Communication: I've emailed, messaged on instagram, submitted customer service requests EVERY DAY for a week, asking about packet pick-up details. Absolutely no response. * Venue: I called the venue directly. They confirmed they're hosting the Bubble Run during the day, but they have NO RECORD of a Foam Glow event happening that night. * History of Problems: Digging into online reviews, it seems this isn't a one-time issue. The proceeds raised would be aiding homeless vets. So your doing good while having fun being healthy! It's a great annual event for family and friends. It was their 11th year, which took place at Barbers point. The pre-run started at 4pm and the official at 6pm. Red, white and blue colors were encouraged. Each branch of service compete against each other to win the hawaii hardware of excellence. Last year the ARMY took it home!! Yeaaa!! I ended up wearing my favorite ARMY STRONG pink shirt in support. The atmosphere was exciting. There was positive energy in the crowds and a good turnout. There was one Food truck available, and keikis were running around laughing. Great entertainment with a band, students from Waianae dancing cultural Hawaiian music, and extreme cheerleading with tons of flips and cartwheels. There was glow sticks everywhere, hence glow run. It was pretty sweet to see runners being enhanced by the neon lights in the dark. I think I did ok on the 5k. What I learned running today, was that I need to run more. I had burning sensations in my throat, and was heaving heavily as I tried to increase my speed. I really doubt that's a good sign.....There were moments where I said to myself, why did I eat so much? I'm running incredibly slow...darn you pizza and fries. Would I do it again? Of course!! Next time with my hubby in tow:) I had a lot of fun. Each branch decorated their booth along the course with music, neon lights, beads, and a couple of guys in a huge bubble ball. It reminded me of the American globetrotter show with them trying to block and knock you down. It took some time for my eyes to get accustomed to Running in the dark. All of a sudden a camera flash went off, and I became blinded lol. I ended up being caught in the huge balls. I was laughing so hard, because I think I looked ridiculous on how I was jetting right and left trying to avoid them. Overall it was a great 5k and organized! I had a Krispy Creme donut that was flown in from Maui! Holy moly! Soooo good it's bad;) They need a Krispy Kreme here in Hawaii!! #6 of 2017 A totally…read morefun event. I would love to do this again when I am in better health. Fortunately my partner was able to take my place without any additional fees. When I saw this it looked like it was going to be a fun and signed up on the spot. One day was given for registration packet pick ups. It was on a Friday from 12pm to 10pm, I think, something like that. If you could not pick it up that day you can pick it up race day with an additional $5 fee. The fee was to encourage pick up not on race day. A friend could pick up for you if they have your ID. So we did go on the designated day for pick up. The line wrapped around the building. That happens when you have over 6K people attending. I decided to bite the bullet to pick up race day. Didn't like that at all. I would have stayed, still bitter, but we had a luau to go to with our visiting guests. I hope this can be handled better next time. The location was by the Coast Guard located in the ole' Barber's Point Naval and Air Station. A large lot was secluded for the event. The same area used for the Yelp Monster Mash event last October. Parking fee is $10 which was the best parking there. However, as you drive along the way there are areas you can park free while others required a lower fee. So, if you don't mind walking you could choose those other parking options. Tip #1 Bring deep woods mosquito repellent. This location is practically in the woods. I didn't get bit a lot like others but it was still annoying. Can't let those little critters ruin a night of glowing fun. There were a few food trucks there but nothing I felt worthy for me to go over and look at. Hopefully, there will be a better selection next time. Fortunately for us, I had the insight to eat before and were not feeling hungry at all. Although it wasn't sunny we still brought water just in case. Good thing we did because it still got hot out there underneath the clouds. Check in was a breeze. For the $20 you get a tattoo decal most people put on their cheek. Looked pretty kewl. Your number to wear on your chest just so you really look like you were in a race in the photos. A nice looking t-shirt you could wear several times to show you were actually there and can brag about it. All that came in a custom bag you could carry and put more stuff into. There was an area you could buy additional paraphernalia like glow sticks and such. Priced too high after paying the $5 fee. We approached the stage area. There were 3 cannons strategically positioned to shoot off about every 25 minutes of this glowing foam. It would soak into your white clothing absorbing the glowing color. It became brighter when the black lights were turned on. We were really enjoying this and it was just beginning. Tip #2 Buy and wear you own glow in the dark paraphernalia. I brought my blinking sunglasses. I also had those blinking shoe strings that I used as bracelets. That made better use of them. Next time I will have more. lol These guys from Miami really worked the crowd into a frenzy playing hot hip hop while throwing tons of glow sticks out into crowd hitting everyone out there. We managed to get 5 of them ourselves without trying. We were jumping, waving arms and rockin' it with the whole crowd. Being infront of the stage was awesome!! Tip #3 Bring ear plugs. It just may be too loud for some of you. We wish we brought them. Maybe we shouldn't have been by the spearkers. You think? Then it happened. The call for racers to approach the starting line. Racers were released in groups in about 12 minute intervals to prevent stampeding, trampling, elbowing, kneeing and any possible wars erupting. This took a long time. I believe they were still releasing groups at 8:30pm. Mog was lucky to be towards the front but it still took about 45 minutes for her group to start. Along the way water was available. At certain spots the groups were shot with glowing foam from cannons to get more lit up. Other spots were flooded with black light so all that foam you soaked up became a brighter glowing splotch on you. Great for pictures. Many people were there infront of the main stage enjoying the beats in their own way. These guys didn't want to leave, neither did I. Mog was worried how I would do. However, when she got back to me she smiled seeing I was still jumpin' and rockin' it by stage in the same spot she left me. We stayed a little and then decided to leave. All that fun works up an appetite and a greater thirst for something hardy. It's apparent some things need to be worked out. However, it was a great event we had a ton of fun. This is good for all ages no matter your state of mind or physical health. Next time, let's get together and rock this rock!!

They kept extending the free registration and I don't know if they ever charged $50 since on the event day it still said free registration ends on Jan 18th and then goes up to $50. It's advertised as free registration but you have to pay per person...$10 insurance + $1 donation to 1 wish foundation. We were also charged $4.28 processing fee for 3 people. You can either buy glow accessories while registering or you can purchase at the event. I didn't notice any price difference. I know someone who arrived around 12:30pm and got her packet in about an hour also and another arrived around 1:30pm and got her packet in about 30 minutes. Long line was no surprise to me from reading the reviews. Their email also indicated they were expecting 8000 people to attend this event so if conducting packet pick up for only 8 hours with a handful of people passing out packets, long line is expected. After being in line for a few minutes, a staff did inform us that it would be about an hour wait but if we cannot stay, he would allow us to pick up packets on event day at no $5 charge. I opted to stay in this line as I didn't want to take a chance of having to wait in a long line at the event. Btw, ensuring all waivers are signed ahead of time and having your QR code ready then it will take less than a minute for them to hand you your packet. We reached the event parking area around 5pm and parking was organized. Walked about two blocks to the event which had lots of porta potties, a photo booth, area with the accessories and about a handful of food/beverage trucks. Stood in line to pick up my pre-purchased merchandise and was informed new purchases are done in another line. Sign would have been appreciated so our party could have stood in the new purchase line while I pick up my pre-purchased items. Luckily lines weren't too long yet...about 5 customers ahead. Pre-party started timely to get the crowd warmed up. Air was a little cool so I opted not to get pre-foamed but lots of others went for it and had a blast. Saw two foam cannons shooting a good amount of foam every few minutes and lots of accessories being thrown out into the crowd. Music was pretty loud (porta potty I used rattled...lol) but you can still hold a conversation if you're away from the stage area. It was great seeing them getting the crowd pumped up. Nearly 6:30pm, they had us make our way to the chute. Rules and instructions are announced and then the first group was let out around 6:45pm. They let another group go every few minutes and after announcing rules and instructions each time to each group. There were three foam stations which spewed a good amount of foam and a couple of black lights along the way. There are stretches of darkness but the path is paved so no tripping hazards. Most walked but there were runners, joggers, and strollers. We walked the whole way and took us an hour. Weather made for a very nice and cool walk. One water station enroute and another after the finish line. Everyone was given their medals at the finish line. We didn't stay for the after party. 4 stars but would give 5 if these recommendations are implemented...a few more black lights and/or lights would be safer. Part of the rules should indicate non-walkers on the left and walkers on the right to avoid people having to zig zag through the crowd. My mother was bumped by a runner zig zagging to catch up with her group :( Perhaps add some etiquette on the website and in emails. Add signs to make it clear you cannot pick up pre-purchased accessories and purchase more in the same line otherwise figure out a way where we didn't have to stand in separate lines. Add wash stations or some type of sanitation station. I wore a cell phone pouch and hung a small bottle of hand sanitizer on it. Have a booth or more information on One Wish Foundation. Highly recommend as a family and friends fun thing to do.

Treat the kids. Y'all deserve it. The package came with socks, protective eyewear, and unlimited ammo. There is a small fee if you want to add more players. The party area in the back was perfect for the parents to hang out in and for the kids to sit, eat, and sing happy birthday. They have tables, chairs, and a standard size refrigerator. Although the size of the arena was smaller than similar businesses, it was bigger than I expected and still a lot of fun. Because it was a buyout we didn't have to share the space with other players. Don't get me wrong, I believe in "the more the merrier" but during these uncertain times, peace of mind is priceless. Tbh I'm really writing this post because our hosts Dylan and Jas went above and beyond our expectations. They were super accommodating-- helping us set up, break down, and manage all of the kids. They would constantly check in on us and help the kids with their nerf guns which made the whole party stressless and enjoyable for everyone.

But can you imagine the bill for this family? It must be cray, cray! Instead of asking donations to help pay their electricity bills. This family decides to donate 100% of the proceeds to a charity. In front of the house is a Make-A -Wish mail box which you can put your donation in. All the proceeds go to the Make a Wish Foundation HAWAII chapter. If you decide to write a check write it out to the Make A Wish Foundation Hawaii Chapter. If your in the neighborhood do make it a point to see this amazing light show.
