I don't speak hairdresser language, so it's hard for me to explain how I really want it. A good hairdresser is good at cutting what I really want, not just what he/she thinks that I want. Also, I don't speak much French. The one who cut my hair did not speak English. Translation was done by another co-worker and my girlfriend, which is French. I'm sure this confusion added to the bad result.

Initially she spent time consulting with me and I shared photo of what I was looking for (I went from short length hair to a pixie cut). My haircut was crafted expertly and extremely happy with the outcome. Sarah was so sweet, genuine and truly accommodating! Sarah brought me to the rear of the salon to the wash station room. She explained she wanted to create a relaxing and soothing experience while getting hair washed/conditioned. Dimmed lights with a visual slide show projection of tropical images to enhance the experience- totally cool. The shampoo wash and head massage was the best ever! Sarah expertly gave a lengthy head and neck massage and ended with a hot/warm head towel to further add to the experience. It was a real treat! The salon itself has a contemporary, a chic but yet warm design, immaculate. The atmosphere is inviting and friendly. I was brought a tray of bottled Vitell water/glass during my visit. Be prepared since they don't rush you out the door with a quick turnaround appointment. Its apparent service is important and taking care of you takes added time which was very evident to me. Salon is easy to find on a side street off the active (popular amongst tourists) Rue Saint Denis (2nd Ard) about a 15 min walk from the Louvre/Notre Dame. Nice area to explore and walk about. I left the Saravy Salon super pleased and must say it was one of the highlights of my trip to Paris! I've been coming to Paris for years and this was my first time getting a haircut. I left my phone at home and couldn't read any reviews but I went in despite my reluctance. Un mot, superbe! My French is so-so but Veronique speaks English well and I was able to convey what I wanted. She made a suggestion that I was unsure of but lo and behold, it was much better than I imagined. I came in to see if there were any free appointments that day, to be told no, but I made an appointment for the next weekend. I came in and the hairdresser spent so much time on my wash and cut. Also, something I really hate in Paris salons is that they charge extra for things like conditioner and they always ask if you want these random treatments (which they don't tell you are 50+ euros extra) - she never did this! I had my hair washed, conditioned, had beautiful products put in it, all without charging extra or trying to get me to do an unnecessary treatment. I left feeling really great, with a good cut and amazing blow dry. It cost me about 65 euros, which isn't cheap, but after my last 50 euro cut that was so terrible I am willing to spend the little bit extra to make sure the time is taken and my hair was cared about properly.
