We've come here the past couple years we've visited Oak Island. It's been a good place to get cheap gifts for friends/ family. Today we visited and right out front is a display of the new popular Labubu toys. My daughter instantly was glued to looking. The woman came from around the counter to speak with her (us as well). But assured her MULTIPLE times that they were authentic followed with no refunds. Now, she was warned not to purchase but she did and they were as fake as they could be. Ice cream was just AWFUL. We got three different flavors and they were ALL chalky/gritty in texture and taste like they are made with water or fat free milk. Not very sweet either. We ended up taking a few bites and throwing it away. I would have been much happier with a McDonald's soft serve cone which is pretty bad lol. The folks were nice & friendly so I feel a little bad leaving a bad review but we will not go back for the "homemade" ice cream! read more

I wish there was an option to rate 0 stars, because I would have for Bubba's convenience store. I walked in, and immediately wanted to leave due to the smell. Then, I see an interesting wall of stickers, mainly consisting of confederate flags. Who knows what other products were there. I then decided that I would not give this store any of my money, and the ice cream and fudge looked bad anyways. I recommend not coming here. read more

If you're white, and can stomach the "gift shop" FULL of confederate flags, "Blue Lives Matter" and other racist kitsch, you may try to order the advertised "Bubble Tea" that you set out to find. However, a small note on the chalk board will inform you, you needed to place your order TWO HOURS before craving said beverage. Since they don't respect different cultures anyway, they should probably just stick to stale flavorless ice cream and not even claim to sell Bubble Tea. read more

Found this place on Yelp and decided to check it out since other Yelpers had given it five stars. The service was prompt and friendly. The attendant was ready to hand out nearly endless samples of the homemade flavors. The selection of ice creams and gelatos was diverse. They were even willing to let you split a single scoop across two flavors. We had the banana pudding, fudge brownie, salted caramel, chocolate, and cookie dough. All were tasty. My wife wishes they would have had a peanut butter chocolate flavor, which is our only critique. read more

I wanted something to take to a cook out so I stopped by Bubba's for some fudge. It's a cute little place with the typical souvenir stuff. The fudge counter is to the left as you walk in and there are plenty of flavors to pick from. The lady working was very sweet and let my daughter and me try five flavors of fudge before I decided on Amaretto Swirl and the very classic peanut butter and chocolate. They were big hits with everyone at the cook out. Both chunks of fudge are smooth and creamy with lots of rich flavor. My favorite of the two is the peanut butter and chocolate. The price is great, too, roughly $10 for an entire pound. read more

This was a big disappointment. I have no idea why this place is number 1. The ice cream tasted like it had freezer burn. Not to mention it was incredibly uncomfortable as it was in a strip mall by a vape shop. Because of previous reviews we decided to try against our better judgment. Worst "homemade" ice cream experience ever. Maybe it was due to the end of the summer but would caution even setting foot in this place. Three of us got ice cream and it had zero flavor and was completely crystalized. Felt like eating bland flavored ice. Fourth got gelato that was not as bad but certainly not good. Honestly it all tasted so bad we walked out and instantly wanted to throw it away but not a garbage can was in sight. We dropped it next to the car and high tailed it out of there. Ok....so I was hoping for some ice cream after dinner. This multifunction store has a secret. They have hand made Gelato, ice cream and sorbet.....but wait, this stuff is really good. So you've heard, "Don't judge a book by it's cover", and Sweet Paradise is one good example. It's hidden inside the little strip shopping center store, but by all means, go inside and check it out!! They have four freezer cases of"product." One with gelato's and sorbet. Two are filled with flavors of homemade ice cream, and the last one has other flavors, just not made in the store. The staff is very friendly and helpful! They're happy to let you taste before you buy. And, it's reasonably priced. I had banana pudding ice cream and butter pecan too! Both excellent! There are several to choose from! The only question I'm left with, is why on earth all those people are lined up at the chain establishment just around the corner. read more

Our favorite! We have been going to Bubbas for fudge for over twenty years. Faye is the greatest, very friendly and accommodating, and makes her fresh fudge daily. Several years ago, we asked for penuche fudge, which is always difficult to find and takes more time to make. Well, ever since that time, Faye makes it and has it for us when we come over the Fourth every year! We never leave the island for Ohio without one last Bubbas stop! read more

We enjoyed the delicious homemade ice cream. Lots of flavors to choose from. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly and they let us taste whatever we wanted before we ordered. Without recommendations, I would not have stopped here. It is located in a shabby strip center and is slightly difficult to find given that there are two other ice cream shops in the same center. Delicious homemade ice cream and gelato. Ice cream store is inside a store with knick knacks. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. They allow and encourage you to try every single flavor they have. They were all good. We had the black cherry, the m&m cookie dough ice creams as well as a mix of raspberry lemon gelato that they called the raspberry lemonade! Great local experience. The other reviews helped in understanding exactly where this spot was located, as it's a little tricky given the other ice cream place two doors down and the fudge place two doors down in the other direction. The reviews from our large party were somewhat mixed, though the visit overall was very pleasant. The proprietor clearly takes a LOT of pride in his craft. He noted that the ice cream is made fresh daily on the premises, thus the lack of toppings--they don't want to encourage any adulteration of the ice cream. No banana splits here. As there were multiple people, I can provide multiple reviews: chocolate was average, butter pecan was excellent, Cookie Monster was great, red velvet was true to the cake, salted caramel very tasty. The waffle cones, also made on the premises, were tasty, but very crunchy, making cleanliness a challenge half-way down the cone. Very limited seating, very nice confectioner. Will visit again to try to the gelato. read more
