3 of their 7 bbq sauces
    Lance M.

Honestly I have no complaints this was my first time here came in an hour before closing service was great the prices are pretty good won't spend more than $40 for two meals drinks and large appetizer. They have their own barbecue sauces and their no run of the mill sauces I recommend trying all of them to find your taste, I bought three of these sauces for $12 in my opinion if you've been buying regular store brand sauces these are a big upgrade. All around wonderful experience a real nice place to get some real good bbq.

    cubed chicken (not so good)

Eight years since my last review and I drop the experience 2 stars. The décor is the same and "fun". Service was relatively quick from order to food delivery. Menu options are difficult to work through (sandwich vs platter, 1 side vs 2 sides, worth switching to special?) I ordered a chicken sandwich. The chicken came cubed, almost "artificial" with several bites all gristle and one section undercooked, pink. It was not flavorful nor appetizing. The corn side was great. Disappointed in Pepsi products. Disappointed the sauce containers were sticky. It was only an "okay" meal.

amazing service very nice people checked on me often but not too often, the atmosphere is nothing special, country music playing chicken and pulled pork tastes a bit funny kind of like rust if it had a taste brisket is so good multiple sauces to choose from and seasonings you dont get a menu you have to order at the front desk not really a good place food wise

Pork basket with Mac n cheese

I stopped here on a recent visit to Lakeland because I had a craving for BBQ and this didn't really do it for me. The restaurant is located in a strip center on Hwy 92 near Combee Road. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but many of the best bbq joints don't. You walk in where you are greeted by a large menu and counter service ordering station. I ordered the pork plate with mac n cheese as the side. I then went and picked a seat where I was greeted by a large variety of bbq sauces. I tried them all and narrowed down my two favorites. I actually found that my 2 favorites mixed together pretty well. A server brought out my plate and problem #1 happened. I had received a plate of sliced pork, not pulled pork. This was probably my fault as I suppose I didn't specify. I grew up in NC, pork is pulled. My bad, not a huge deal. However, the pork was sooooo dry and perhaps the pulled pork would not have been quite as dry. It was also generally flavorless. The mac n cheese was bland. It tasted like Stouffers. Overall, I was completely unimpressed and will not likely be back.

Plain and simple it was the WORST GARBAGE we have ever had. Jimbo's is the place to go for actual homemade sides.

He was very social and answered all our questions and socialized about personal life as well. We ordered the Cuban eggrolls, and they were quite good but had smaller cubes of ham as opposed to pictures showing slices in some older pictures posted to this establishment. The drinks were spot-on. Although I may sound disappointed, I'm looking forward to trying more on the menu that they have to offer. I plan to return to try more. Recommended!

The atmosphere is dive bar friendly and there are so many cool niche areas for photos. Really loved the raised unfinished ceiling and the naked white brick wall which covered the side wall of the tavern. When you enter there is a hostess to great you. And our server almost appeared immediately. She explained the menu to us and the specials. What a great first impression. Unfortunately, there was a key piece of info we missed. There is a full bar, draft beer options and a decent wine selection. I ordered a draft beer and a flight of Mimosas. The beer was good, the mimosa flight not so much. Oh, and they have brunch specials on Saturday and Sunday, including unlimited mimosas at a 2 hour limit. For food, ordered the classic breakfast plate and a breakfast burger. Food was pretty good, but the burger was from a frozen patty, so not the best. Unfortunately they have some policy where they charge an extra $1 for the eggs. It is posted in the front, but nowhere on the menu. Suffice to say that experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Pun intended. They did remove the $1 but it took more effort that I would have liked and unfortunately the review and the server's tip suffered as a result.

One complaint: each table features a card advertising happy hour. Although we were there during happy hour, drinks are not available at the happy hour price. Husband and I got the half pork platter with one side. He got beans, which he said were delicious. I got a fresh garden salad with honey mustard. Our friend got brisket (looked moist) with side salad and coleslaw (not creamy). We all got cornbread and liked it. All of us enjoyed our meals, and savored them. Salads were fresh. Pork was just right. It was quiet and peaceful so we were able to catch up in normal speaking voices. Didn't have to shout to be heard. Our waitress was attentive and kept checking up on us. We appreciated that kind of service. We only had to get one to go box for our friend. Husband and I got clean plate awards! Friend paid her bill with a credit card. We used Apple Pay after scanning the QR code. I don't remember paying a surcharge for not using cash, which was refreshing. When we left an hour later, more people were in booths, and the bar area was no longer empty. This is a really nice place, with good food and service. It should be full all the time!

At first glance this place looks like a really cool hangout. The mix of metal roofing and American motif gives it a gritty look. Looks to have plenty of seating to include a covered outdoor area. Looked to be clean and organized. Service was spot on and our hostess/server was quick to provide menus and silverware. She immediately took drink orders and returned rather quickly. My friends and I chose the buffet as it was recommended by my friend's cohorts. According to them "they have the best beans and BBQ buffet". A Looking it over there were several meat choices. There was hamburger patties in a brown gravy, several flavors of chicken wings, pulled pork, meatballs, and burnt ends. Overall it was okay at best. Flavors weren't consistent. For example I had a meatball that was very spicy. But the other was bland. I thought the burnt ends were a bit dry as if they sat there all day. The problem with that is we went as they opened. The pulled pork was a bit mushy. The BBQ wings were pretty tasty. I also tried the garlic parmesan. I thought they were a bit salty. Now for the sides. I felt the macaroni was a bit overcooked as opposed to al dente. Hush puppies were okay. The beans were actually good in my opinion. A nice addition was pork rinds. I don't know if they were house made and I forgot to ask. I really didn't go up for seconds as nothing really impressed me. Afterwards I did try their peach cobbler. Mushy and lacking either ice cream or whipped cream. They did have a salad bar. It looked to be fairly fresh. And I wanted to also add, for an extra $5 you can have all you can eat sliced brisket. At $17 I wasn't going to tack another $5 for kess than impressive BBQ. Overall I'd have to say there are far better choices for BBQ in Lakeland. Would I go back? Maybe, but I'd express my opinion. For what I paid I could have gotten a far better meal at Mojo Federal in Downtown. Just saying.

It was quite possibly one of the best donuts I've had in years, with perfect donut texture as you bit into it, with all the delectable flavors of the indulgent cookies and cream on top. Not only was the donut excellent, but they are served up in tastefully retro boxes which just added to an already amazing experience. We've been coming here for the better part of 10 years. Seriously, this place is fantastic. Today we came in just after the lunch rush. I love some of the various versions out there like a Grouper Reuben or a Turkey Reuben but there is nothing like an original. The bread is their marble rye which was already freakin fantastic; patty melts are phenomenal here. The ratio of corned beef and sauerkraut was spot on perfect.
