They do not do the authentic tacos here, so if you're looking for authentic tacos do not go here. I ordered steak tacos for my wife, they give a very eagerly rationed amount of steak which tasted weird and then expect you to fill up the flour tortilla with beans and all this other stuff. I asked for cilantro and red onion since they only had red onion raw. So you're left with a large four tortilla with some marinated burnt square pieces of steak and not much else. $18 for a drink and 3 barely edible tacos with maybe 4 ounces of steak total. Disappointed The chop meat bowls we ordered had too much rice plus the rice was undercooked. There was hardly any meat and it was very dry. The lettuce should have been cut into smaller pieces. I decided to give Bubbakoo's a shot on Friday 8/11/23. The staff was great and very accommodating. Because it was my first visit, I asked for recommendations and the gentleman serving me went through all of the potential options and let me know what was most popular as well as his own personal favorites. I went with a burrito bowl with shrimp and steak. I'm usually hesitant to get shrimp (or steak for that matter) at "fast food" places, however, the shrimp in particular was excellent. There was a great range of sauces and add ons as well. The rice was a little mushy, however, everything else was great and fresh. I'd come back again based on the food, but I'll definitely be coming back based on my experience with the service. My wife and I decided to try a new place - you know - mix things up. After a few "i don't knows" And "I'll eat whatever's" we found ourselves sitting in the chipotle parking lot (as usual). One last search on google maps to find some "better" and we stumbled on Bubbakoo's burritos. We decided to give it a shot! Change isn't easy and not always accepted but gee whiz I'm glad we did. Chipotle tastes the same everytime which is great when you know what your getting but Bubbakoo's has lots of different flavors to choose from and an authenticity behind it. It feels local. This place has been open all summer & I'm so happy I can finally write this review! I love this place! It's a chain restaraunt bit it's a little different. I always enjoy coming here for a quick dinner. There is a small menu but lots of different ways to make your bowls, burritos and tacos. They always have a line but it moves. It's worth the wait. Usually love this place but 2 x this week I've purchased the taco salads for my family and the shells were undercooked. If you've had the taco salad the shell is the best part. It's not an inexpensive meal. May be a while before I go to this location again. read more

Grabbed a quick late lunch on Saturday. The place was clean (including the bathroom), staff was friendly and food was well seasoned and fresh. Quesadilla was a little oily, but pork tacos were great. Comparable but better IMO to Chipotle or Qdoba. Will definitely go back for takeout again. read more

I have been ordering pretty much the same "bowl" from here, for several months now. Product and service is consistently good. You get a lot of food for the price. Newly vegan, I appreciate that I can find customizable, made-to-order "fast food" that fits the bill, as I am on the road daily for work, in the Manahawkin area. I usually get a brown rice and bean bowl, with whatever toppings I choose. Sometimes I also include a Boca burger (vegan). Welcoming, friendly, fast, and competent service. The crew clearly is imbued with the positive brand ethic about the product and experience they are delivering. I will say though that there seems to be high staff turnover here. They always are very busy when I am there. I will qualify an earlier comment that states that Bubbakoo's is a chain. Initially founded on the Jersey shore (Point Pleasant) in 2008, Bubbakoo's locations are actually franchises--so, these are quasi-independent, local businesses that you are supporting, by patronizing them. read more

Obviously frustrated I went home and decided to eat it and give it a chance. After scooping up the remains of my meal from the bottom of the bag I took a bite out of my burrito bowl, and man.. I have eaten some bad food but this is probably top of the list the rice was white mush that was one block the steak was one of the worst things I have ever tasted. I gagged a bit and spit it all up. Second time I had issues with this place. I did a online order and they just substituted something else and did not tell me. Got home and found out that it was not what I ordered. Had to go back and they said they meant to say something but did not. Was told they don't have it anymore and that I had to wait to be refunded. That it would take a few days. Why was it still on the menu then and why a few days to refund the money. I was told the could not sell the one item and when called back that they were out at the time. So are you out or can't sell it. I am sure that I will get one of those corporate responses to this as will as the other negative reviews, and if there was a negative review I would have given it.
