When my last car was stolen, I started looking for a better alarm system for its replacement. After lots of calling and researching, BSWC ended up being the most helpful. I spoke for a while with Mick and Mark Cox (father and son team); Mark gave me a huge amount of impartial advice to help me choose the best alarm system for my car with no obligation.
I ended up settling for a Cobra 4615 alarm and immobiliser which is a tightly OEM-integrated system. Mark did the fit (on a blisteringly cold January weekend), and I could tell he was experienced: the install was cleverly and meticulously done, avoiding the usual pitfalls and trademark giveaways a less experienced installer might leave.
The fit looks OEM and it's very discreet. The siren and control boxes are tucked away in cunning locations and the system adds comprehensive security to the car.
Mark also did some additional wiring installation for some additional soundsystem components in my car, wired from the OEM head unit. This is always tricker than with an aftermarket head unit as you need to take apart the centre console to properly access it (which comes with its own problems unless you do it right!)
I provided a wiring schematic and some of the extra parts (switches, potting boxes etc). Mark recommended a few ways to improve upon the design layout then completed the install, again to a high standard.
They weren't the cheapest of companies I spoke to, but I think BSWC were the best for the job. They've been around a long time and were also founder members of the security industry bodies. They're also a Thatcham accredited installer, apparently they also do an increasing amount of fleet work installing aftermarket security and tracker systems.
BSWC did a great job, exactly what I wanted, and didn't leave a single mark on my car. Speak to them if you're in the West Midlands and looking for an alarm system. read more
