We arrived around 2 PM and went directly to site #3 that over looks the Kentucky river. All sites are 30 / 50 Amp and full hook up. Sites are well groomed and are on cement pads. All sites have ample parking. We have a back in site but had no problem parking camper. Several large pull through available. Heavy rain all night long and this morning their is very little standing water. Shower house is nice and clean. Large playground for children. Walking paths along river. Look forward to many more camping trips here. Only about 3 hours from are home.

From Louisville it's less than an hour drive, off the Henryville exit and down a curvy neighborhood road. While a scenic drive on a nice day, it was a little nerve-racking in the early morning. No sunlight and rain. The road isn't well lit and I had to use my brights, plus drive more in the middle of the road. On the path to the retreat center, you'll also drive through a covered wooden bridge made for only 1 car at a time. Check in was fast. About 50 rooms with double beds sit next to the main building and you can walk a long hall inside to avoid bad weather. The main building contains meeting rooms, eating area and a loft with snacks, pool table and a couple of arcade games. The loft is a favorite spot during meeting breaks - jars of candy, chips and ice cream. Plus, who doesn't love a free game of Ms Pacific Man? Our trip included all 3 meals and for the most part, decent. The employees there are very attentive, clearing plates from the tables. It's nice to not worry about bringing in food or having to leave and visit a restaurant. Wooden Glen has a great deck outside with several tables, giving your group another spot for meetings or eating. In nicer weather you'd have areas for walking and I believe they also offer a team building area. The rooms are large. I appreciated the sink outside the full bath and small patio outside each room for enjoying coffee. The bed wasn't comfortable - felt outdated and had a weak mattress. Everything was very clean though. The outdated feeling carries through to each gathering area near the rooms. Each have couches and chairs, sometimes a fire place or kitchen area. It's a large spot to have a party. Again, very clean but it would be nice to have new furniture. Service has been great at Wooded Glen, and this has been consistent with every visit. It's a great spot for work retreats or a large family gathering. Or, if you just needed a quiet spot to be alone, it would serve that purpose.

We had a retreat here for work which included 22 of us. We made this place our home, classroom, and our playground for 3 days! This is located about 35 minutes from downtown Louisville. Once you entered the property you are entering a place of Tranquility and peace. During our time here every need was taken care of. We had amazing food For each meal, snacks and drinks too! The day before we left we had Team building activities. Shaun and Amy led our groups through multiple events. These team building events were challenging and incredible. They created such an amazing and unique experience! The resort has hotel style rooms, volleyball court, horse shoes, walking trails, fire pits, and more! Can't wait to visit again!

The last two times I've stayed, however, the smell of mold was practically overpowering. The first time, I thought it was because I had chosen a Jacuzzi room but this time I was in a regular room where the smell made it hard to sleep. We even left the terrace door open to try to air the room out. I'll not take the chance, again.

Nikki is very unhelpful -- just down right rude and unprofessional. She caught an attitude the second I asked why our card was charged multiple times and then continued to cuss me out and block my email so I couldn't send proof. Would not recommend to anyone unless you want to experience horrible management and your card being charged multiple times. Honestly deserves negative ten stars.

Also a nice homemade breakfast was served on the morning we were leaving. Very nice. The king bed in St. Michael's Room was very comfortable and the private bath was acceptable. With this being a rest stop the restroom was not dirty at all which was surprising. I love that they had roadmaps still in here. I know now people just utilize their phones instead of using a map. There were vending machines in here. If you are needing a rest stop definitely stop here.

On a recent cruise up I-65 through Indiana, we had to answer that timeless summons: Nature Calls…read more This rest area delivers exactly what you want in that moment of urgency--easy off, easy on, and plenty of parking. No stress, no circling, no drama. The grounds are impressively well-kept. I counted three or four staff members actively tending to the place--grass being cut here, hedges trimmed there, a trash can getting emptied like it owed someone money. There's a clear, ongoing effort to keep things tidy, and it shows. Dog owners will appreciate the nicely shaded walking area. When we passed through, a couple was out enjoying the weather with their Shelties, living their best roadside life. There are also a few picnic tables for those who prefer to turn a pit stop into a proper pause. Now, the building itself... let's just say it's rocking a bit of a "vintage charm." From the outside, it feels dated compared to some of the more modern rest areas along I-65. Inside, it's clean--but again, definitely due for a facelift. There's a noticeable disinfectant aroma in the air. Whether that's reassuring or a little aggressive depends on your perspective, but hey--at least you know they're trying. A freshly mopped floor (thoughtfully cordoned off) confirmed that cleanliness is taken seriously. The men's and women's facilities are located on opposite sides, each with what appears to be two sections. In the men's room, the faucets are... adventurous. Instead of a smooth stream, you get a dozen tiny jets firing off like a synchronized water show. Functional? Yes. Elegant? Not so much. If you're feeling snacky, there are several surprisingly well-stocked vending machines--perfect for a quick grab, assuming you're okay with highway pricing doing its thing. At the end of the day, this rest area fulfills its core mission: a reliable, clean stop when nature calls. It's not going to win any design awards, but it gets the job done. A little modernization would go a long way--but in the meantime, it's a solid pit stop when you need it most.

These rest areas serve as important...well, rest areas for travelers and truckers. Those in the trucking industry say the for-profit truck stops off of many intersections are often full and sometimes come with baggage in the form of illicit drugs or illicit activity. There's also the pressure of paying for services even if you don't intend to walk in and use the facilities. With these rest areas being in fairly remote areas off of interstates, these also serve as important points so truckers can rest. Or travelers can switch drivers without having to do a Chinese Fire Drill on the interstate. The amenities here are your basic rest area stuff (federal law prohibits the sale of goods, though there is a carve out for vending machines). Restrooms are clean and drinking fountains are available if you need to refill your water bottle. There is a good amount of green space if you traveled with your dog and he's bouncing off the car walls and needs to stretch his legs. There are 2017 maps if you want to go retro or learn how to read a map. And there is an office for the attendant in what I assume is only occupied 9-5 Monday through Friday. Why did I take off one star? The bottled water cost $2. I know, I know...captive audience. But I can imagine buying in bulk the state of Indiana could get a slightly cheaper price if they tried.
