I have used Tri State on 2 separate jobs now over the past year or so. Both jobs I would consider…read moresomewhat custom. I live in an old building in OTR, on the top floor, in a building with no elevator. First let me say that I had a number of contractors come and quote the jobs, many would not even submit a quote after they had to climb the 78 stairs to see what I wanted done. The ones that did submit a quote where often very difficult to get a hold of for questions or followup. Tri State was one of the very few that was very responsive and submitted a competitive bid for the work. Summary of work: 1st job: Put up walls and doors in an open space in my condo. This involved moving/rerouting some electric and dealing with ceilings that sloped all over the place. We had most of the work done while we were gone on vacation. Overall the timeline slipped a little, but Tri State got the work done as expected and the end result looks great. No one who visits my condo would know that the walls and doors never existed if I don't tell them. Main thing that could have been improved on this job was cleanup after each days work. 2nd job: Shower replacement and significant changes to the kitchen. This job required a good amount of demo, plus the use temporary sinks/counters while the project progressed. Tri State put in a good amount of work to overcome things like plumbing issues that were found when the old shower was removed and their team was flexible to get those resolved. The kitchen required a good amount of custom work with stainless steel, while everything did not go perfectly, Tri State made sure that everything was right and that I was completely satisfied. Overall their people are very friendly and trustworthy, they were in my condo a lot with no one else there, there was never a problem nor did I get any complaints from my neighbors. Construction projects that are non-trivial will always encounter some sort of problem, the key is does the contractor work with you to get a good solution. Tri State always made sure there was a good solution when there was a problem so the project could meet the end design goal.
