I came to Newcastle for chemotherapy at Mater Hospital for stage 4 adenocarcinoma of the left lung that had spread to the right lung and pleural fluid. I also had anal carcinoma. I had a lot of trouble getting a GP in Newcastle because their books were closed or rejected me as "too high a risk". Dr Ghosh offered me a free Hindu blessing from a saint (AMMA) on 10 January. She gave me holy water to swallow and put holy ash on my forehead. I felt a heat that started in my forehead and went through my body. She charged nothing for this. In February 2013 the Mater Hospital Dr told me I was in remission, which is extremely rare in my stage of cancer. God works in mysterious ways!

It occurred to me this was because she was trying to catch eye contact (flirting) with my partner because she wanted to pick him up despite the fact it would have been obvious we were a couple, because as soon as i noticed, she stopped and hid behind the desk. She also asked my partner if he wanted to make another appointment but not myself (seems pretty shady and unprofessional). Instead I just got a dirty look up and down. I went onto their page on their facebook to see what others had said and there were countless bad reviews about this place and particularly the reception. So I wrote up my own review about my experience. Within a few hours after I wrote it they had disabled the recommendation feature on their page so no one else can put up their bad experiences. Would love to see qualified and professional staff at this place. I have taken screenshots as i'm almost certain that someone will probably delete this comment in a matter of hours as well (also took screenshots of the original review on their FB page). People have a right to know so they are able to go to the doctors and not have to endure such disgusting and inappropriate behaviour at a place they should be able to feel secure and get help safely. Would love to see qualified and professional staff at this medical centre.

He blamed my gastrointestinal issues on the fact that I am a woman and therefore have caused my own issues through being an "anxious female". I hope he has either retired or gone out of business by now because he is one of the most distressing, disgusting, and infuriating people I have ever met and the fact that he somehow got a doctorate is mind-blowing to me. I attended my appointment with a support person who was equally as disturbed by his behaviour.
